A few really long runners and a load of frontloaded fanbase acts to make up the remainder. How many albums have spent two weeks or more in the top five? That can't be more than a dozen or so.

Times have changed with the download age, but still the biggest years for albums over the last decade were 2003-2006. Is it a coincidence that the top 20 was counted down weekly for those years, and that album sales have suffered sharply since it was reduced to a top 5?

They need to give this a proper release. But with Lady Gaga, everywhere you go people talk about her, and how she's "revived" pop music or whatever. It's annoying. The nation could do with a break from Lady Gaga. And we can take less focus of music videos, and live performances, and go back to artists making good songs. She's only appeared on three TV shows in the UK this year. She's a classically trained pianist...she's as much an artist and musician as anyone else. Oh wait I forgot she's not a "real" artist because she uses electronic production. You don't sound like a well person...her success really bothers you. You shouldn't blame her for the lack of direction in your life. Oh well she's not stopping anytime soon! Get ready to be tortured! I probably rate her similar to Taio Cruz, really, but he gets much less critical acclaim, so he's a bit less annoying. Cher Lloyd!!! :wub:

The same reason they got on board with Someone Like You, even though Set Fire to the Rain was supposed to be the 2nd single at the time. It's clearly very popular. I'd say radio have got on board with it to an extent, since I've heard it on Capital outside the chart show before.
