September 6, 201114 yr So The Sats must have sold over 40k so far then..amazing! Double Missing You first midweek and they've already outsold the first week sales of FIO, ITIL, Up and Notorious.
September 6, 201114 yr So basically The Saturdays are number one when you combine I need a dollar & LadyKiller which will no doubt be a couple of thousand.... therefore The Saturdays will be nearly 15,000 ahead of Maroon 5, Surely that gap is too big for Maroon 5 too close down. Any other week The Saturdays would be flying high at number one with these opening sales... WOW.
September 6, 201114 yr Top 40 Only Singles 1 Pixie Lott [39.6k] 2 The Saturdays [AFU] [38.4k] 3 Maroon 5/Christina [26k] With her iTunes lead, Pixie has surely got her 3rd #1 sewn up! :cheer: :yahoo: Albums 1 Example (8.5k ahead) Maybe this'll encourage more Sunday album releases?
September 6, 201114 yr Ed was never ahead of Maroon 5 on iTunes.. So? Maroon 5 are ahead of The Saturdays now and will probably remain so throughout the week. Besides your arguement doesn't make sense, Ed was still ahead of Maroon 5 for most of the week overall, what does itunes have to do with it?

Besides your arguement doesn't make sense, Ed was still ahead of Maroon 5 for most of the week overall, what does itunes have to do with it? Because Ed's sales were more frontloaded - i.e. physical or sales from the pre-ordered EP. Maroon 5 still only made about 5K ground on Example over the week, and that's all I expect they will make up on The Saturdays.
September 6, 201114 yr Adele back up to 2... cant be many who havent got 21.. Great to see Joe still in top 10.. Pleased for him who is at 6? Thanks for the updates..

Maroon 5 still only made about 5K ground on Example over the week, and that's all I expect they will make up on The Saturdays. Yes but this is only you assuming that The Saturdays aren't also front loaded. I imagine Pixie will pull away from them considerably over the week. My arguement was that you can't call another poster deluded for believing Maroon 5 could catch up and you really can't. You could say you think it's unlikely but to call someone deluded about it is going a bit far.
September 6, 201114 yr Such an interesting week ahead! We still don't know who could be #1 really with The Sats b-sides to be added. Pixie will probably be ahead of them anyway when its all added up tomorrow unless The Saturdays make ground. I can't see Maroon 5 making up the ground to get to #1 or #2. I would be very surprised if they do so, but I guess stranger things have happened. Albums - Example will probably stay in the lead, but I wouldn't be shocked if 21 catches up and reclaims the #1 spot and I'm sure we'll get a report in the next day or so to say its hit 3 million sales. And YAH! For Joe McElderry!! Still in the top 10! I wonder if he can manage another 30K this week? If so, he may be just shy of reaching what the total of Wide Awake is currently at - 3 weeks in! :o Edited September 6, 201114 yr by Knightr634
September 6, 201114 yr I imagine Sats to be down to 3 come Sunday - Maroon 5 are already ahead on itunes - they made up ground on Example from Thursday onwards - they're making up ground this time from Tuesday onwards. Gonna be an interesting week though! Good to see Example top of the album charts and with a good lead
September 6, 201114 yr who is at 6? Adele again  It was #7 last week, and it climbed, so where else can it be
September 6, 201114 yr Hopefully with the Mercury Prize being announced tonight we will get some decent albums in the Top 30 Metronomy, PJ Harvey et al
September 6, 201114 yr Using those sales, I estimate Example to be on c.16-17k, extrapolating backwards from Maroon 5 (using this as the benchmark given that neither have EP sales / significant physical sales whereas Pixie, Sats + Leona all do). If that's the case, I think Leona is a cert for the #4 spot on Sunday. Pixie should definitely get #1 and the only thing up in the air in Sats vs. Maroon 5. Confused with all the Sats entries, AND their sales. Their physical sales must be astronomical, and/or their pre-order dump on iTunes singles chart on Sunday when they first entered must be adding a couple of thousand straight off.
September 6, 201114 yr After seeing the sales, Sats are deffo safe at 2. Maroon 5 will never catch up at this rate, don't see why everyone think they will. They're 0.4% ahead on iTunes right now and 15k sales behind The Sats. To pass them they'd need to be a fair bit ahead and stay there all week. Missing You was number 6 on iTunes by the Saturday, Club Can't Handle Me was outselling it by almost 2 to 1 from Wednesday onwards and Love The Way You Lie overtook it on the Tuesday evening yet by the end of the week, Flo Rida sold 61k, Eminem/RiRi 58k and Sats 57k.
September 6, 201114 yr You are quite deluded if you think Maroon 5 can make up a 12.5K deficit by close on Saturday. They will probably be a little further behind on tomorrow's update before slowly gaining ground for the remainder of the week.. Anyway great sales all round. I take back what I said about OA/OS, let's have a new entry at number 1 every week for the rest of eternity! :D I think you are the one quite deluded mate if you think it's not possible! The same as most people going on about the Saturdays on here (it was only yesterday people were saying they had a good chance of number 1) 15 hours ago they were 7% above maroon 5 on itunes, now they're behind.....if thats not frontloaded then i don't know what is. I'm pretty sure maroon 5 will get number 2, The Saturdays aren't even safe at number 3, not by a long shot Edited September 6, 201114 yr by rufcforever
September 6, 201114 yr 12k is far to much ground to make up. The Sats must be safe at 2 Edited September 6, 201114 yr by Dannyboy

I think the point is that very shortly (maybe even as early as Thursday), Maroon 5 will probably be outselling The Saturdays by 2:1. Maybe you don't believe me, but lets revisit this on Thursday when The Sats have tumbled down iTunes?
September 6, 201114 yr Author Confused with all the Sats entries, AND their sales. Have the Sats recorded a version of I Need A Dollar, as it could be an error from OCC, it might be Aloe Blacc.
September 6, 201114 yr Mental note to self: do not engage people in conversation in this thread this week. Rookie mistake.
September 6, 201114 yr Have the Sats recorded a version of I Need A Dollar, as it could be an error from OCC, it might be Aloe Blacc. They covered it on live lounge and it was a bonus track for people who pre-ordered the EP from iTunes
