September 6, 201114 yr Brilliant sales, especially for the Sats - possibly their first single to go gold? As far as I'm aware - they have only got silver so far (Ego, Up & Higher) :D Silver: Up, Issues, Just Can't Get Enough, Ego, Missing You, Higher ;)
September 6, 201114 yr The Saturdays are now 95% of maroon 5 compared to 99% 2 hours ago.....falling like a sack of spuds

September 6, 201114 yr Again, The Sats have like 5 versions of the track in the iTunes chart. Whats that got to do with my point that they're falling very quickly? Read and understand the comment before firing back a ridiculous response
September 6, 201114 yr Whats that got to do with my point that they're falling very quickly? Read and understand the comment before firing back a ridiculous response I read it, I understood it. If you'd have read mine then you would understand that those other versions in the chart will also contibute to their current position, so they're probabbly still at #2. Falling yes, but they still have other versions to prop them up.
September 6, 201114 yr What about the itunes thread as well, that's got to be worse surely? This IS the itunes thread. I can't see the difference except in three or four posts.

Yes I know they have other versions in the chart, they are falling too
September 6, 201114 yr Hate it when people do this, are you not aware of illegal downloading no? :) What, 57 million people have illegally downloaded it? confused...
September 6, 201114 yr Shocked at how high the sales are for the singles chart. I am kinda glad the mistake has happened with The Saturdays so it isn't all over everywhere that they have dropped from midweek number 1 again. I wouldn't be supprised if Marron 5/Xtina overtake The Saturdays come sunday, but I hope they can hold on to #2. In away I am glad this probably won't be a number 1 for The Saturdays as with One Direction releasing next week it would have been a one week wonder, and I expect it to be down to about 7 next week, and 1-7 isn't the best looking chart run. Poor Mel C limping in at #33, she probably will drop out the top 40 by sunday as I think she is going to be extremly front loaded.
September 6, 201114 yr What, 57 million people have illegally downloaded it? confused... and 57 million people are not illegally downloading? Majority of people illegally download, the numbers are HUGE. A lot bigger then legal sales, so if you look at legal numbers and how huge they are for an album, like 21 for example, the illegal figures are seriously huge! :music: Edited September 6, 201114 yr by Karma
September 6, 201114 yr As well as legal purchases & illegal downloads, we don't need to think about the number of PEOPLE that have bought '21' as I'm not convinced that people need more than one copy per household, so we could basically base it on how many households own a copy rather than people

My Dad has a copy, I have a copy and my sister has a copy. My Mum is the only one that doesn't. :P
September 6, 201114 yr There are three copies in my household. My Dad has a copy, I have a copy and my sister has a copy. My Mum is the only one that doesn't. :P :heehee: For mine, it is just me who has a copy, so what Jahq said is true for my situation, my family love Adele too though, but i'm obviously the biggest fan out of them  I bought it the day it was out, and still listen to it, it just never gets old for me. So if we all lived seperately as individuals they all would have bought '21' too, and it may be the case for a lot of people so thats even more sales there could have been :P

I don't think illegal downloads for albums are as prevalent as for singles/individual tracks, are they?
September 6, 201114 yr I can't believe anyone's stupid enough to think that every household that hasn't bought 21 has illegally downloaded it. No one can say how many copies could possibly have illegally downloaded it because you can't find figures because they're illegal. Besides I don't have a copy of 21 and I won't get one either because I don't want one, believe it or not.
September 6, 201114 yr I can't believe anyone's stupid enough to think that every household that hasn't bought 21 has illegally downloaded it. Who thinks that? I don't think illegal downloads for albums are as prevalent as for singles/individual tracks, are they? Thats the thing, we cant be sure, because they're illegal there isnt any way of measuring them, all we do know is that many, many people illegally download, wether its music or films, or anything you can download for the internet for that matter. So to think an album can be so huge in this day and age is so brilliant to see, that millions are willing to buy an album which they could easily get for free, i personally think its great. :D Edited September 6, 201114 yr by Karma
September 6, 201114 yr Author There are three copies in my household. My Dad has a copy, I have a copy and my sister has a copy. My Mum is the only one that doesn't. :P And I bet all 3 are played at the same time
September 6, 201114 yr I don't think illegal downloads for albums are as prevalent as for singles/individual tracks, are they? No, because you can actually purchase a CD an they have value to people. The majority of the population wouldn't have a clue how to download a song, especially albums which normally involve rar or zip archives.
