January 15, 201214 yr The rest of the song is electronic, so Alexandra's voice should be too. Sorry, I hadn't realised there was a book of rules. I haven't read it. ;-) If the song really would sound better without it, they wouldn't add it. Highly debatable. Clearly people like it, and some people need to get over the fact that vocal effects will be around for a LONG time. I've no objection per se to vocal trickery/production techniques being used sometimes. (Some people's careers depend on it.) I think the fact that it is, as you say, widely used, is a good enough reason for not using it. And Alexandra Burke has a great voice, which doesn't need it.

January 15, 201214 yr Shame to see this dropping 5 places this week but hopefully its sales won't have gone down TOO much from last week. Sales in the top 10 are very close so it could still be nearly 30k despite how relatively low the #1 sales are.

January 15, 201214 yr YAY, '21' is like.. one of my favourite albums of 2011, but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Actually, last year I thought this had a chance of overtaking Bridge over Troubled Water and now it's basically impossible; sooo many weeks at number 2. Chart-wise it has done much better in other countries (33 weeks at number one and counting in the Flanders). Oh, and do you realise that it has been replaced at the top by an EVEN older album?
