June 27, 201213 yr The album must have been renamed, I thought it was to be called The Only Flo Part 2.
June 27, 201213 yr MW have one thing wrong - will.i.am has been number 1 outside the BEPs with usher on omg!
June 27, 201213 yr Since Maroon 5's sales are down 49% on the week and will.i.am is 13k ahead of Chris, will.i.am has a minimum of ~53.8k (more depending on how far Chris is ahead of M5).
June 27, 201213 yr big drops for cheryl, interesting to see if radio pick up her new single and what it will do in the charts. I reckon top 20, should at least outpeak the flood
June 27, 201213 yr The album must have been renamed, I thought it was to be called The Only Flo Part 2. Yeah, it was, but it was changed about a month ago I think.
June 27, 201213 yr It was called 'Only One Rida (Part 2)', to continue from his flop album 'Only One Flo (Part 1)'. He's sensibly decided to completely forget 'part 1' ever happened and rename 'part 2', since he's done much, much better this era. It'll probably look a bit odd in the future if anyone is for some reason looking back at Flo Rida's discography :P
June 27, 201213 yr Funny that everyone who wants Linkin Park to be #1 thinks they'll surrender their lead and everyone who wants Maroon 5 thinks they won't be able to close the deficit.
June 27, 201213 yr I can't believe Ed Sheeran is already ahead of Cheryl Cole, It's weird to think after two weeks Cheryl Cole will struggle to pass 50,000! I wonder if she willl pass 200,000 with this album!
June 27, 201213 yr Funny that everyone who wants Linkin Park to be #1 thinks they'll surrender their lead and everyone who wants Maroon 5 thinks they won't be able to close the deficit. Very reminiscent of the CLASH between myself and T Boy on Moves Like Jagger's sixth week at #2 :P I think after that ordeal Maroon 5 fans are just refusing to have high expectations for a #1 even when one seems likely (and even after Payphone easily got there last week with around double the sales of #2). Edited June 27, 201213 yr by BBB
June 28, 201213 yr M5 should be opn for 65-70k in the singles this week - linkin park should do around 35-40k!
June 28, 201213 yr Maroon in many ways are at the peak of their career as their singles have never done better in the UK, that said, i dont think sales of the new album will reflect this, songs for jane will be their career album peak by a long way but payhphone will easily end up their 2nd biggest single of their career. The best hope is the new album will manage to be their 2nd biggest selling album. In many ways its a shame they re-released hands all over with moves like jagger on it, as had that been on the tack listing for this album it would have boosted sales, then again, by adding it to hands all over it added 180,000 extra UK sales.
June 28, 201213 yr Bloody hell - Rock/Indie releases are more frontloaded than a new single from The Saturday's! Ginger Wildheart down from #5 on Tuesday to #9 on Wednesday - Can see this struggling to hold onto a Top 20 placing, And The Levellers down from #15 to #22 - Again can see this low Top 40 at best!

Yes, I remember-we were both so certain that what we wanted wouldn't happen. I didn't get what I wanted, but at least I was right. I was also the one who predicted Rihanna would release early. I'm so good at this. Although I'd prefer a Maroon 5 no.1, I quite like Linkin Park too so I'm not really fussed either way this week. The outcome is bound to be better than last week's top 2.
June 28, 201213 yr Even if Maroon 5 do get the #1 album, will.i.am >>> Justin Bieber so the #1s this week would be a huge improvement over the godawful ones last week :P
June 28, 201213 yr big drops for cheryl, interesting to see if radio pick up her new single and what it will do in the charts. I reckon top 20, should at least outpeak the flood Her 2nd single is not out until 10th September... she deserves this underperformance because she has done nothing to promote the album or the single in 3 weeks, since 8th June, 20 days ago.

I could honestly see her 2nd single charting, and even peaking quite a bit earlier than that, as the radio stations will probably playlist the song 1-2 months earlier than its release date. So it will probably debut in the top 40 during the summer. Might be similar to how Jessie J's singles always seem to peak like 2 months early. Edited June 28, 201213 yr by Eric_Blob

Probably, but it's dissapointing how she's in Vegas celebrating her birthday and the only thing she has done in 3 weeks is to shoot the Under The Sun video... girl, do you not know you have an album out? She should do what The Saturdays (or Girls Aloud) do, be everywhere and promote... I miss pre-malaria Cheryl, her ambition has disappeared in the last couple of years.

She should do what The Saturdays (or Girls Aloud) do, be everywhere and promote... I miss pre-malaria Cheryl, her ambition has disappeared in the last couple of years. She had a T4 Special promoting her album on the 16th. She's done 2 signings in London and Newcastle and has been promoting in Europe. She's hardly chillin' at home watching the soaps. Pretty sure Bieber hasn't done any promotion whatsoever in the UK... Edited June 29, 201213 yr by A Million Lights
June 29, 201213 yr Midweek Charts update: Linkin Park and Maroon 5 run close for chart honours 10:40 | Friday June 29, 2012 By Paul Williams Just a few thousand sales currently separate Linkin Park and Maroon 5’s new albums as both US bands look to top the UK artist albums chart for a third time. Linkin Park’s newly-issued Warner Bros set Living Things has been leading the market all week, but remains just ahead of Maroon 5’s new A&M/Octone/Polydor album Overexposed going into the weekend, according to Official Charts Company Data. Linkin Park previously reached number one in the UK in 2003 with Meteora and then again in 2007 with the follow-up Minutes To Midnight, while Maroon 5 opened their UK chart account with two chart-toppers: Songs About Jane in 2004 and It Won’t Be Soon Before Long three years later. Asylum/Atlantic act Ed Sheeran is up from 7-3 at this stage of the week with + thanks partly to coverage of the Radio 1 Hackney Weekend, which also helps the Roc-A-Fella/Mercury title Watch The Throne by Jay-Z & Kanye West progress 20-6. Meanwhile, the two albums that debuted in the top two positions last Sunday have seen their sales fall by around 70% this week, sending Def Jam/Mercury’s Justin Bieber dropping 1-4 with Believe and Cheryl Cole’s Polydor offering A Million Lights falling 2-5. Cole’s manager will.i.am has every chance of topping 100,000 first-week sales with his Interscope/Polydor singe This Is Love featuring Eva Simmons. The track is presently around 17,000 copies ahead of its closest rival, fellow new release Don’t Wake Me Up by RCA’s Chris Brown, having sold 83,000 copies so far and should give him a first solo UK number one this Sunday. Having debuted at the top last weekend, Maroon 5 featuring Wiz Khalifa’s A&M/Octone/Polydor single Payphone is now down to three, while Atlantic act Flo Rida drops 3-4 with Whistle and Cheryl Cole’s Polydor-issued Call My Name falls 2-5. from musicweek.com. There's no midweek charts online at musicweek.com as yet.
