Flo Rida has been on high rotation on Kiss over the past week or so, so that's probably what's helped him. I've also heard it been played on a few other local stations in my area too. Not sure if it's got a video, if it has then it might have been on some music channels.

It does sound good in the car earlier, especially in the sun B-)

Flo is very much the definition of a "singles artist". Nobody seems to want his albums, but he seems to be huge deapite that. I imagine his first (proper) greatest hits (whenever he does one) could potentially be huge.

Can Flo Rida just get a hit with ANYTHING these days? I knew the next single would do well since he's very popular atm, but that climb is just baffling. Maybe if it was Whistle in the same situation, it wouldn't be surprising, although i'm not really sure what's so remarkable about this new song that everyone has just instantly latched onto it

Yes - all you need is a fanbase that'll buy any old crap you put out...

Flo Rida does not have a fanbase - he can't sell albums to save his life (at least in comparison to his singles sales anyway, he has had two top 10 albums but he's also had one that missed the top 100 entirely) but he's clearly very good at making singles that strike a chord with the general public. He used to only be able to do this once per era ('Low' from 'Mail On Sunday', 'Right Round' from 'R.O.O.T.S.' and 'Club Can't Handle Me' from 'Only One Flo (Part 1)') but he's clearly got the formula right with this era.

Weird that Fun & Cheryl aren't getting advertised in the 59p bundle, Flo Rida at the rate he's going at might actually go top 10 tomorrow, knocking out Rita Ora!

16. Cheryl - Under The Sun (I wonder if this will actually get top 10, With all physicals & Pre-Orders she might be at the lower end of the top 10 tomorrow in the Chart Update)

Cheryl doesn't have physicals and she doesn't have pre-orders either, the single wasn't available to pre-order because it wasn't on iTunes.

About the discount, her record label should put it back to 0,99 if it isn't advertised...

60. PSY - Gangnam Style

As if this crap has 100 million views on YouTube!

Also bubblin' under:

44. Avicii & Lenny Kravitz 'Superlove'

45. The xx 'Angels'

88. Knife Party 'Centipede'

I've just heard it, and when he said it had 100m views, I had to see if it was on iTunes. It's quite catchy, but still an awful, awful song! :P

Have any South Korean artists ever charted in the UK?

And for that matter have any Indonesian artists ever charted before or is Angger Dimas (#44 last week with Steve Aoki and Iggy Azalea on 'Beat Down') the first?

No, they don't. Rihanna's "Birthday Cake" made it to #24 on the Hot 100 based pretty much on Urban/Rhythmic play. Not to mention this is Rihanna we're talking about. If it's a huge success on both Urban & Rhythmic and it has a good video, it'll easily go top 20. Not to mention that the radio play itself will likely increase her album sales :)

To stay on topic; AWW! P!nk looks like she might fall below Little Mix :(

Birthday Cake went top 50 on iTunes too. Cockiness might have a similar chart performance to Marry the Night imo. Roc Me Out would be in the same situation too, being played only on rhythmic and urban, and therefore not charting top 20.

11 Flo Rida - I Cry 0.2500 0.2118 (DARK green)

10 Rita Ora - How We Do (Party) 0.2875 (white)

Top 10 today? WTF?

I like Flo Rida and I like his material (besides 'Whistle') but for some reason I hate seeing him have success. I think it's because he's already had alot of big hits I think i'd rather see some other artists get the success. I mean, 'Wild Ones' and 'Good Feeling' were amazing but there's only so many times he can shoot into the top ten before I start to get bored.

I must say that I agree about hate seeing him have success, my reason is that I've never heard about him doing ANY promotion in the UK. He just has hit singles without doing anything!

Flo Rida's promotion is being played to death by commercial radio and in clubs throughout the week! :drama:

It's not awful  . You need to watch the music video to understand it. :D

No, Girls' Generation went something like #103 on the UK iTunes but then fell down hard and didn't chart in the Top 200.

Gangnam Style is no worse musically than about half of the songs that have been hits in here in the last two years, and it's a damn sight more fun. I think it'll struggle to properly take off though as people would rather watch the video - a bit like Friday in that respect.

Gangnam Style is my obsession at the moment, it has to smash! :kink:

I really can't believe Flo Rida's success this era, nor does he deserve it. Good Feeling and Wild Ones were fairly good for a typical club song, but Whistle and especially I Cry are just awful. Whistle just revolves around the gimmick and it's just faceless beyond belief, although without the lyrics it's just another Domino/How We Do but by a male. I Cry is just terrible and a very lazy use of a sample to get another hit, it's literally just him singing/rapping over it! It'd better not get him another top 5 hit, but it looks inevitable. :(

Sorry for the rant but he infuriates me so much nowadays! I'm even getting to the point where I'm preferring Pitbull!

If Pink falls below Little Mix, then she'll be blamed for not promoting her song over here.
