September 28, 201213 yr Where are Call Me Maybe & Pound The Alarm in today's update please? Va Va Voom up to #28 on iTunes. Hopefully it will be top 40 on sunday. out of top 40
September 28, 201213 yr Disappointing to see P!nk ahead of The Killers already, hoping she doesn't catch Green Day now.
September 28, 201213 yr Hope P!nk stays in the top 3 and No Doubt stay in the top 15. Could they possibly climb a little higher this week or next because of them on Jonathan Ross tomorrow? Edited September 28, 201213 yr by Rated_F
September 28, 201213 yr Cheers Ben & iTSAN. Thats a bit off a fall. It was expected though. Edited September 28, 201213 yr by Rob Summers
September 28, 201213 yr Mumford & Sons and DJ Fresh both climbing into the top 10 :D Conor will knock the latter out (which is even better as I prefer 'Turn Around' to 'The Feeling') but if they're #9 now Mumford & Sons must have a very good chance of actually getting a top 10 single :o 'Sigh No More' up 3 from Wednesday already too, if both 'I Will Wait' and 'Sigh No More' can be top 10 as well as the massive sales for 'Babel' that would be absolutely wonderful. Also woo for Ne-Yo overtaking Taylor and 'Madness' jumping into the top 30 from outside the top 40 on Wednesday :D Boo at P!nk overtaking The Killers, but TBF I was surprised she hadn't already done so by Wednesday. Is there any sign of 'Clique' in the top 40 today?
September 28, 201213 yr At the end of the day, PSY will be no.1 but not (at least for this week) as massive as everyone here has ovehyped. I think it's apalling garbage tbh. We've overhyped it? I think 302 million YouTube views in less than a few months kind of speaks for itself? It is now apparently the most 'liked' YouTube video ever too. It has also got the biggest lead on iTunes there has been for a good few weeks, I think you may have spoken too soon there..
September 28, 201213 yr Could Mumford & Sons new album be like a mini 21? I could see it increasing Sigh No More for an extended period and I believe it could also have extraordinary sales for a fair period as well. They don't strike me as a type of artist that would ordinarily sell 150k+ albums on their debut week (yes, I know Sigh No More is a million sell, but I'd still have expected 100k tops as the The Killers have 3 million sellers on their belt).

It's possibly but unlikely as I'm not sure what's on there to sell it. It's a good album and a lot better than I was expecting to be honest, but it's just consistently solid rather than having any real standouts. There's nothing that you can pick and really say it can help the album to become massive like Adele had, or even like they had on their debut with 'The Cave' and 'Little Lion Man'.
September 28, 201213 yr I would disagree with that, there are a couple of very obvious standouts on 'Babel' - obviously 'I Will Wait' but also the title track, 'Lover Of The Light' and to a slightly lesser extent 'Broken Crown'. (Backed up by the fact 'LOTL' is apparently the second single and Wikipedia lists 'Babel' as a single as well). I don't think 'Babel' will quite be as big as a 'mini 21' but I do expect it to hold up fairly well for at least the rest of this year.
September 28, 201213 yr Those two as singles make sense, but I still don't see them as being good enough or having wide enough appeal to transfer them to the next level.

It needs the video for the majority of people to like it. And those stats don't mean I'm wrong. They prove it's popular but it's still overhyped for the crap that it is.

It came from like nowhere and became massive, and u can't say it's overhyped based on the quality of the song cause of course it's subjective and judging by the charts people love the song
September 29, 201213 yr It is overhyped because, quite frankly, it's shit. It needs the video for the majority of people to like it. And those stats don't mean I'm wrong. They prove it's popular but it's still overhyped for the crap that it is. What has quality got to do with anything when talking about overhyping? Apologies if I am being condescending but an example of something being overhyped would be people going on an on about the new Lady GaGa single and how it's for definite going to debut at #1 and then "Born This Way" stalls at #3. Not like in this case, when people are saying that the song "Gangnam Style" is everywhere and is likely to go to #1 and then it does. Nothing to do with quality. And you say you are a teacher? (D) for effort.
