October 31, 201411 yr Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You Because it's one of the fakest songs I ever heard. Dolly Parton wrote this song for Porter Wagoner, who was her mentor, played a huge part in her fame and basically built her early career. In 1973/74 she parted ways with him and that's when she wrote this song. It was a tender 'thank you' song. I never admired the song in any of the versions I have heard but at least I can appreciate the original because of its sentiment. Whitney Houston seems to think that the louder and more exaggerated she sings the more emotional she is. Now it's a smart move 'cause the public usually falls for that trick, but imo it ruined a classic and stripped away all its emotions. I much prefer Dolly's original.
October 31, 201411 yr Blurred Lines. Can't stand it. Now I'm getting on a bit and don't follow the charts anymore but had the misfortune to hear this yesterday on my new Now....Million triple CD. How the hell it sold a million baffles me! Awful. Happy, Rather Be and Let Her Go are on there too and they're all great.
October 31, 201411 yr How could anyone like/not mind Supermassive Black Hole?! It's so pointless and boring... there's literally no soul to it at all. Why does a song have to have soul? In fact, songs without souls can often be better. Supermassive Black Hole is a grower of sorts, especially for those of us used to Muse having killer guitar/piano riffs in their singles.
October 31, 201411 yr iamthingy, is overrated but she does have a few decent songs. One day she may even make a decent album.
October 31, 201411 yr JaAWdljhD5o Just NO. I'd never seen the video for this before. It's quite good. The woman with the red hair is quite cartoonish. Edited October 31, 201411 yr by AntoineTTe
November 1, 201411 yr Beyoncé's 'Single Ladies', Fatman Scoop's 'Be Faithful' and Mariah Carey's 'Shake It Off' make up my top 3 in that order. :puke: Other horrors from the past few years include this lot of rancid filth: Mika - Love Today Sugababes - Girls Rita Ora - Shine Ya Light Rihanna - You Da One Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls Beyoncé - Diva Beyoncé - Run The World (see a theme developing here?) Lily Allen - Not Fair Lily Allen - Somewhere Only We Know D'Banj - Oliver Twist Die Antwoord - Enter The Ninja Shakira and Beyoncé - Beautiful Liar (strictly the original version, Freemasons remix improves it) Cheryl Cole - Promise This (and '3 Words') Taylor Swift - Teardrops On My Guitar And more, but these immediately spring to mind. None of these are remotely listenable to me, just utterly diabolical.
November 1, 201411 yr I'd never seen the video for this before. It's quite good. The woman with the red hair is quite cartoonish. that's not the official video, it is a fan-made one that overshadowed the real thing
