December 27, 201213 yr Seems that James Arthur will pass a million early next year then as well - hopefully fun and Guetta/Sia will too at some point so we can have 5 million sellers released in 2012. And by the way things are going, Gangnam Style could do it as well, before Titanium and We Are Young!
December 27, 201213 yr I can't believe James is already on 125,000 for the week! :o Could he sell over 200,000 again this week?
December 27, 201213 yr I despair at the people buying Impossible. Awful song even for an XF winning single.
December 27, 201213 yr And here we all were thinking 'Impossible' would struggle to pass 250k a few weeks ago  Nice to have a midweek update although it's a rather boring chart - I expect the likes of The Vaccines, Alt-J, Tame Impala, and Green Day to appear in the Top 40 albums by Sunday and Rita Ora, Frank Ocean, Maroon 5 and Jake Bugg to climb higher. Sales for Michael Buble must have been high on Monday and Tuesday for him to still be Top 3!
December 27, 201213 yr Kylie at 35 in midweeks.... 15k this week? think it may struggle to keep top 40 it needs dropping in price to £5 instead of £7 like it is in HMV..... went HMV canary wharf today and no copies to be found...... will this be Abbey Roads last week top 40? still should have sold 175,000+ so far which is better than most thought
December 27, 201213 yr I'm convinced that Scream And Shout will have sales of over 95k this week. I keep hearing it everywhere I go and everyone I know loves it, including me!

December 27, 201213 yr are there any new songs coming out Sun that have a shot at #1 (for next week)? As posted by April J in the New Release Schedule: 31st Dec David Guetta feat Taped Rai – Just One Last Time Matt Cardle – Anyone Else Matrix & Futurebound feat Baby Blue - Magnetic Eyes Pet Shop Boys – Memory Of The Future (CDS) Red Hot Chili Peppers – Pink As Floyd (7”) Romanz – My Angel Spector – Friday Night, Don’t Let It End T.W.I.C.E – Round & Brown The only ones that have any chance of Top 40 are David Guetta (although with the album version on the way down in the itunes chart, I'm not so sure) and possibly Matrix and Futurebound. Not sure about Skepta. I hope Impossible doesn't stay Number 1 next week too, much prefer Scream and Shout, even if I'm not that fond of it.
December 27, 201213 yr Spector – Friday Night, Don’t Let It End Not sure about Skepta. Skepta isn't releasing anything next week. :D
December 27, 201213 yr Whaaat at those sales for Impossible :o X Factor winner's sales usually drop off a cliff after Xmas, this one is a genuinely popular song, not just a show winning novelty! Wow at the top five already clearing 400k with Friday and Saturday to go as well, PSY should ease past 100k, even though he's been in the top ten for months! :o
December 27, 201213 yr Really hope PSY can go back to number one and detrone that awful poo factor track.
December 27, 201213 yr ^^PSB might scrape the Top 40 next week I think they are releasing 3 physical formats which always sell well for them plus it's a quiet week.
December 27, 201213 yr I know he is #1 on iTunes but i have a feeling James Arthurs sales would have been very front loaded as the physical sold out at work on Monday and as the shops were packed it could have lead to alot of people buying the CD single as a last minute stocking filler etc, - A bit like Michael Buble who seems to have had huge sales at the start of the week.
December 27, 201213 yr I think the week after it really could be anyone of the top 3, sales are going to drop pretty sharpish. Plus with new year's eve falling on a Monday, Psy will probably be most played at parties, he could actually get a week in the new year, just a case if the track wears off by the end of the week. Probably be more of a chart battle between Psy and Will/Britney. Impossible is not really a party track, if you catch my drift. A couple of years ago we had Bad Romance returning to #1 in the new year, its becoming more of a tradition, to have old tracks back at #1 in the new year. As usually tracks stayed longer at #1 during the Christmas season, that's becoming pretty much extinct.
December 27, 201213 yr Incredible sales for James Arthur really - looking to clear 150k at least. 125k supposedly puts it on 888k(?), so it'll reach a million either by next week (if it sells another 100k-ish), or by the week after. Honestly didn't expect so many people to get behind this track, hopefully a sign of good things to come from Arthur; the four-track CD single has been played a lot in my household. Had hoped to see Justice Collective a little lower than #4, if I'm honest. Olly Murs should push it down to #5 by Sunday, then it's a case of Bruno Mars potentially pushing it down to #6. "Stay" only at #13 has the potential to climb a place or two; hoping for a T10 re-entry next week though - should be/should've been the first #1 of 2013.
December 27, 201213 yr Brilliant sales - love the xmas chart and the gift card week - always springs a few surprises. So are the top 5 in with a chance of nearly 100k sales each by sunday? Its the way xmas falls this year that the xmas week and gift card weeks are a mix of each other lol, i wonder how much the pogues sold on sunday/monday. Think in the year when we had a full week build up to xmas day FONY sold 30k so id imagine sun/mon sales were around 8-10k. Funny the Buble is fighting for no1 this week, he has no chance of getting there now though. Although it would have be an interesting battle if sun/mon sales were added to last weeks totals - Buble could have got to no1!
December 28, 201213 yr Loving that PSY is going to get his personal weekly best sale after so many weeks into its release! Impressive I must say. Same can be said for James' Impossible as well. Whoa at it selling beyond the X Factor period. :o
December 28, 201213 yr I know he is #1 on iTunes but i have a feeling James Arthurs sales would have been very front loaded as the physical sold out at work on Monday and as the shops were packed it could have lead to alot of people buying the CD single as a last minute stocking filler etc, - A bit like Michael Buble who seems to have had huge sales at the start of the week. Also a lot of hmv stores were out of stock /running on very low stock of Emeli Sande come Christmas Eve. No stock has since been replenished.
