December 1, 201312 yr Yeah that would make sense actually, it does have that kinda vibe to it. I guess being born in 1997 doesn't really help. :kink: Its a mix of 2 90s dance songs, so yes it has the vibe!

Niall Horan from Mullingar, Ireland; Zayn Malik from Bradford; Harry Styles from Cheshire; Louis Tomlinson from Doncaster, and Liam Payne from Wolverhampton (the latter had previously reached the judge's house stages of The X-Factor as a 14-year-old back in 2008) originally entered the 2010 seventh series of the talent show as individuals, but following a suggestion from guest judge Nicole Scherzinger, they were grouped together to become One Direction. Mentored by Simon Cowell, they soon became one of the favorites to win the show, thanks to renditions of Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You," Elton John's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart." However, despite receiving a standing ovation for their duet with Robbie Williams ("She's the One") in the live final, they eventually finished third behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Spotting the potential of five Justin Bieber-esque teen pinups, Cowell signed them to his Syco label in a £2million deal, and after performing on the X-Factor tour, the quintet began work on their debut album with Savan Kotecha (Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias). Following a sponsorship deal with Nintendo DS and a book, Forever Young, named after their cover of the Alphaville classic which was intended to be their winner's song, they released their first single, "What Makes You Beautiful," in late 2011. The full-length album, Up All Night, followed soon after. In 2012, One Direction became the first British band to debut on top of the Billboard 200 list when Up All Night sold over 176, 000 copies during its first week of release in America. In late 2012, One Direction released its sophomore album, Take Me Home. Highlighting more of the band's melodic pop, Take Me Home featured songs and production via Sweden's Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub, and Savan Kotecha, who worked on Up All Night, as well as contributions from singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. In August of 2012, the band released the single "Live While We're Young" online. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2011 01 What Makes You Beautiful -1- 2011 03 Gotta Be You -2- 2011 01 Wishing On A Star (2011 Finalists Feat. December 1, 201312 yr So both Gary and 1D repeaking with their singles this week! Both songs being surprisingly good, considering I hate both artists!
December 1, 201312 yr Glad they've got a new peak with Story Of My Life, although it should have been #1 imo. Still the album has done brilliantly!
December 1, 201312 yr New peak for 'Story Of My Life' :cheer: Hopefully it can re-peak again next week, ahead of that terribly annoying Gary Barlow song.
December 1, 201312 yr Story Of My Life    so glad it's reached a new peak, almost unheard of these days for a boyband! Hope it can climb further next week.
December 1, 201312 yr Go Gary, outpacing the two songs that beat him last week. Definitely not the sort of song I thought would climb on it's second week but folky MOR pop appears to be in recently, see also this 1D song
December 1, 201312 yr I find it so bizarre that One Direction have now had 4 songs that have made the top 3 but not number 1. that might change next week but I thought their fan base would be enough to force some of them to number 1
December 1, 201312 yr Really pleased this has re-peaked. By far their best song to date (every pop act seems to have at one great song in them!).
December 1, 201312 yr Are you not counting Sing as an album then Bre (R1/OCC did at the time didn't they?). I did - I've just listed it separately from his solo albums, as 'Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band' is a single unit ('The Commonwealth Band' don't exist outside of that album) so I'm treating it the same as André Rieu from a couple of weeks ago.

December 1, 201312 yr Yay for 'Story of My Life' getting a new peak, such a good song! (the XF performance rly helped it too!)
