Very close call for Bieber this week! 'Confident' to miss top 40? (Probably not as it's another collaboration, albeit with someone not as well-known as R. Kelly).

Another extremely boring song. Possibly even more boring than the previous ones. :/

I take it that Justin Bieber's got the most Top 40 singles this year then :(
RY X
Not that good at all. Doubt 'Confident' will be as good as 'Roller Coaster' either so I won't hold my breath!

Biography

Australian singer/songwriter Ry Cuming — better known as Ry X — found commercial success with his sparse, atmospheric single "Berlin," which was used on a European advertising campaign for Sony TVs in 2013. Born in the coastal town of Angourie, New South Wales, Cuming grew up listening to the likes of Pearl Jam and Jeff Buckley, and their influence can be heard in his distinct, ethereal vocal delivery. In 2010 he relocated to L.A. to pursue his music career and was eventually rewarded when he was noticed by Jive Records, which released his self-titled debut as Ry Cuming later that year. He went on to tour with pop/rock heavyweights Maroon 5 and enjoyed moderate success, while he also worked with pop star Sara Bareilles on album track "Always Remember Me." Following a quiet period, Cuming re-emerged in 2013 with an EP entitled Berlin under the moniker Ry X after signing to Stockholm-based label Dumont Dumont. The reverb-heavy guitar sound found on his EP is a step away from the acoustic strums and rockier edge of his previous work and evoked comparisons to Fleet Foxes and José Gonzalez. The lead single, "Berlin," charted in the U.K. Top 40 following the aforementioned European Sony advertising campaign. - iTunes

And next week is very quiet so it might be top 40 afterall.

This is really lovely, I don't know if it's going to take off though, maybe in the new year?

This is so so boring. :(

I like Change Me, don't LOVE it but it's really quite inoffensive.

Oh I really like this 'berlin' :cheer:

Yay at Wizzard!

Gezza sorted the sales of this out for me, btw :D

Who is Chace The Rapper and why is everyone rooting for him/her to get a hit, even if it means Justin Bieber will get the honour too?
[berlin] is really lovely, I don't know if it's going to take off though, maybe in the new year?

I doubt it, it's down to #76 on iTunes.

YES Wizzard! By far the best Xmas song ever imo, I'm always so pleased to see it back in the top 40 every year, usually only behind Mariah/The Pogues. Nice to see it cemented as the UK's third favourite Xmas classic.
