(30) Kelly Clarkson-Underneath The Tree

another Phil Spectior-esque Xmas tune and in the vein of the Mariah Carey hit. It comes from the top selling XMAS album of the same name and beat out the "Duck Dynasty" XMAS by a few thousand copies.

Jason Derulo interview again? He's on every week I swear LMAO. Trumpets has such laughable lyrics but isn't a bad song.

BTW guys if you wouldn't mind casting a YES vote here for a 1D artist forum, it will take just 2 seconds and we'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance ^_^ (sorry if this isn't allowed but I can't see anything forbidding it!)

Derulo sure likes his trumpets...first Talk Dirty and now the rightly named Trumpets

It's good :)

2012 35 Breathing -4-

This peaked at #25, not #35.

(29) Killers-Mr. Brightside

This is the Killers' biggest hit in America. But it's not my favorite tune they ever did.

The chart doesn't feel festive anymore. Bring on Leona Lewis!

Biography

Ellie Goulding is a British vocalist whose music finds the balance between electro-pop and indie folk. Born in Hereford, England, she later moved to the country's east coast to study drama at the University of Kent. Goulding had developed a love for folk music as a teenager, and her time at University also exposed her to electronica. After two years, she took a break from her studies and moved to West London, where she pursued a career as an alternative singer/songwriter and befriended producers like Starsmith and Frankmusik, who gave her songs an electro-pop twist. In 2009, Goulding began building an audience via the internet, where early tracks like "Starry Eyed" and a cover of Sam Sparro's "Black & Gold" were posted on taste-making MP3 blogs such as Discodust. Goulding soon graduated from the blogosphere to print media, gaining praise from mainstream publications like The Guardian and fielding offers from record labels. She ultimately signed a major-label deal with Polydor Records and began making preparations to release her debut album. In the meantime, she penned songs for Diana Vickers, Gabriella Climi, and others.

During the final weeks of 2009, Goulding topped the BBC's "Sound of 2010," a poll conducted by British music critics and industry insiders to identify new talent. Building on that momentum, she released Lights — a sparkling debut album that splashed Goulding's vocal flutter across a landscape of acoustic and synthesized instruments — in March 2010. Lights topped the U.K. charts during its first week and spun off a Top Five single, "Starry Eyed," which also charted well in Ireland and New Zealand. Later that year, the album was re-released as Bright Lights, featuring seven new recordings (including a cover of Elton John's "Your Song," which peaked at number two). In 2012, Goulding returned with her sophomore album, Halcyon, which showcased an even more sonically adventurous, electro-pop-infused sound. In 2013, a deluxe reissue featuring ten extra songs was released, entitled Halcyon Days, it acted as supplement to the original release. ~ Andrew Leahey & Jason Birchmeier, Rovi / iTunes

Album Discussion Here

Edited thanks, was a typo.

I know he isnt in the chart this week but when Robin Thicke was you never put in Give it 2 U

Unpopular opinion but I prefer this to Burn. Might be bland but it's so lovely especially the lyrics. Glad it's having a nice chart run.
Sorry but is it really as bad as some of the tripe in this chart? Like that terrible Wizzard cover? :puke2:

And all I see is you complain, which is sort of true. I'm sure you don't occasionally, however.

Well, the Wizzard cover wasn't good by any means but the song itself is better than "The Monster" talking/rapping for me.

I'm not complaining, just expressing my opinions on particular songs ;)

Liking this a little bit more after the Xtra Factor performance, but still nowhere near her best!

The chart run for this - especially given it's the Children in Need track - is remarkable.

Shame single sales aren't higher, this would have amassed great sales up to now. Hopefully it'll clear 400k in the end though.

It was added from the point on Give It 2 U was charting, your memory let you down :P
