February 23, 201412 yr Sophie Ellis Bextor seems to have fallen out of the top 40 albums from the top 20
February 23, 201412 yr Nina Nesbitt @ninanesbitt 1m 12 sales away from a top 10 album. Still delighted with the position considering it was Brits week, can't thank you all enough! How annoying!
February 23, 201412 yr Wonder if that Great Big World song can become this year's We Are Young? (I see the fun. comparison has been noted by others too ) OUCH at Nina Nesbitt although even without the BRITs, it probably wouldn't have stayed top 3. Edited February 23, 201412 yr by Chez Wombat
February 23, 201412 yr I suppose Nina making the top 20 was good, considering there has been no big hit from her. I hope A Great Big World/Christina does have longevity. i always route for the ballads in a sea of mediocre dance songs....

The core four-piece of the group were known as the Chatto Quartet, a classically trained string quartet that performed J.S. Bach and cited Jacqueline du Pré as an influence, but their post-show, wind-down music often consisted of garage, two-step, Craig David, and Arcade Fire tracks. The quartet members were aware of both producer Jon Wandeck and MC Ssegamic through the duo's work in photography, and when Wandeck suggested they play on one of his house music cuts, Clean Bandit were born. With MC Ssegamic on the mike, they released the classical-meets-house-meets-hip-hop-meets-heartbreak song "Telephone Banking" in the summer of 2011. Their Dance Armstrong mixtape followed in 2012, while 2013 saw the release of their Mozart's House EP. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): Clean Bandit 2013 17 Mozart's House -1- 2013 43 Dust Clears -2- 2014 01 Rather Be (Clean Bandit Feat. February 23, 201412 yr Wonder if that Great Big World song can become this year's We Are Young? How much airplay did Fun. have when We Are Young entered at #7?? Was it as much as Say Something? I do agree, however, I don't think it has peaked yet!
February 23, 201412 yr Given it's her first album, then it's bound to be. I assume you meant a *chart* record... She said on twitter she was 12 copies behind #10. Such a shame
February 23, 201412 yr It's funny to think that they hadn't even had a top 10 hit yet here there are with a 400k+ selling single.
February 23, 201412 yr Clean Bandit  It's still the best song in the charts for me, what a brilliant song! Yay for it beating AGBW too.
February 23, 201412 yr Every artist in the top 5 albums has a perfect record! (Some with more effort than others :P) Edit: beaten. I think Jester was just saying all the *albums* in the top 5 were past #1s - your trivia may be rather more rare. Of course with 3 of the 5 being debuts that's not much of an achievement, but quite impressive nonetheless that the top 5 artists have 10 #1 albums between them and no other charted albums.

February 23, 201412 yr 1 00 01 Sam Smith Money On My Mind In The Lonely Hour | 2014 http://a1.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Music/v4/d3/d8/86/d3d88692-1d87-3501-7121-e4b0bf9b38b6/13UAEIM19781.170x170-75.jpg Chart Run: 1 Release date: 16-02-2014 Format: digital single Label: Capitol Records Video here: K0G9T5Bnjlc Biography Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2012 11 Latch (Disclosure Feat.
