April 21, 201411 yr "We Found Love" was released midweek and blocked M5 from #1 again!  How unlucky
April 21, 201411 yr Author Incidentally if you quote this list WITH SALES on other websites please give credit- thanks!
April 21, 201411 yr Here's hoping someone attempts to sing Adele this year to put her back to number 1. I like Blurred Lines but it just isn't worthy of all time most downloaded song. -_-
April 21, 201411 yr I do find it weird how Robin Thicke managed to come back with powah powah 6 years after his only UK hit. The song is undeniably massive though and a deserving winner (for now, surely 'Happy' will outsell it soon?)
April 21, 201411 yr I'm actually concerned that Happy WON'T outsell it! Someone do the maths! It has about 200-210k to catch up and is currently still selling 30k a week and not decreasing very quickly at all, I think it's a fair bet.
April 21, 201411 yr Incidentally if you quote this list WITH SALES on other websites please give credit- thanks! Sorted! ;)
April 21, 201411 yr 'A lot of you think Umbrella' It's weird to think how a lot of chart listeners have no idea how well singles sell :o My fave was someone texting in saying "I still remember Gotye being number 1 for 4 weeks... UGH" I was all like, well, bad news, 5 weeks actually. -_- :cheer:
April 21, 201411 yr I wonder why Alexandra's Hallelujah seems to be missing? Did it really sell that many physicals?
April 21, 201411 yr I wonder why Alexandra's Hallelujah seems to be missing? Did it really sell that many physicals? I remember it selling loads of physicals (possibly as much as 500 K?) - I think it was when Woolworths was going under and they were selling loads of tat for next to nothing. I know my Nan has a copy of it.
April 21, 201411 yr I wonder why Alexandra's Hallelujah seems to be missing? Did it really sell that many physicals? It shifted loads from the Woolworths closing down sale. People were going frantic for their 10p copies of "Hallelujah".
April 21, 201411 yr I wonder why Alexandra's Hallelujah seems to be missing? Did it really sell that many physicals? Released just prior to Woolies closing forever and needing to get rid of their stock. Plus physicals were still doing alrightish in 2008.
April 21, 201411 yr Wait is that actually true? It wouldn't have sold as much as it did if it hadn't been for that shop closing down?
April 21, 201411 yr Wait is that actually true? It wouldn't have sold as much as it did if it hadn't been for that shop closing down? There's no way to conclusively prove it but yes, pretty much that is the case
April 21, 201411 yr 'A lot of you think Umbrella' It's weird to think how a lot of chart listeners have no idea how well singles sell :o I would have thought the same if it wasn't for Buzzjack!
April 21, 201411 yr It shifted loads from the Woolworths closing down sale. People were going frantic for their 10p copies of "Hallelujah". Still massively overpriced.
