If she's on course for 125k, Cheryl will either be one of the biggest selling #1 of the year, or the biggest selling #2 of the year (we're talking first week sales of course) !

Tuesday Update Top 40 Only

Singles

1 Cheryl Cole (66.3k) *

2 MAGIC! (44.6k) *

Nice 22k lead ! :cheer:

But aren't streaming data usually missing in those early updates?

22k opening lead :cheer: Smashing it, like I knew she would on the opening week :D

Yay at Charli :yahoo: :yahoo: It is doing better than I expected.

Poor Lana   She really should promote more.

The album front, however, looks horrid. But, that's almost every week this year now.
Nice 22k lead ! :cheer:

Not that I'm aware. Sometimes songs have a their sales split slightly in the first update which leads to it appearing further down the chart too (and they're usually combined by the Wednesday update), however this has only affected X Ambassadors this week.

Very impressive start for Cheryl. For comparison, 'Ghost' sold 64k by the Tuesday update and finished with 132.3k. I'd expect Cheryl to be more front-loaded than that but the inclusion of streaming could skew things slightly. Either way, I agree with Hayzayy about at least 125k.

Looks like MAGIC! are on course to break 100k but #1 looks beyond their reach (unfortunately).

Delighted to see Charli doing so well and I hope Neon Jungle stay top 10 as I wouldn't like to see their streak broken.

Hopefully La Roux is safe for a top 5 album.

Well that's gonna be really though for MAGIC! to catch up with, even when you take the weekend streaming effect into account. Shame that MK and X Ambassadors will certainly miss the top 10 :( Neon Jungle are doing better than I thought - but it'll still be a challenge for them to keep onto a top 10 peak. I guess if DJ Fresh could do it with being #7 in the midweeks then they can too with a #6 midweek position.

Had no idea Courteeners had a new release, I guess their entry is mostly due to sales of their EP and it'll be out of the top 40 by tomorrow.

Amazing for Cher Lloyd. Hopefully she can stay top 40! I'm still expecting a #38 peak or something. As long as she goes top 40, I'll be happy.

Not to mention that Cheryl's only been available to stream this week so her streaming will grow stronger throughout the week. :)

MAGIC! on almost exactly 2/3 just like the first pop bars! This week is interesting being a new release vs new release battle thus both getting the new release effect, we haven't had any proper new/new battles this year (the closest are SLSP/Changes and Nobody To Love/Last Night but if I recall correctly those were fairly certain).

I had to check if Courteneers were another M.A.D(/Reconnected/whoever else); this is unusual!

Ella Eyre is sadly down to #35 :o ouch

Even Calvin Harris is a big dropper this week... a drop of 9 places to #26 plus Oliver & Becky down to #20 with Paloma Faith been the only climber in the 40, the rest are dropping a fair bit this week

Idina Menzel is a non mover

That's streaming for you :( I should expect Nicole will have dropped a bit further than where her itunes position suggests.

Edited by Rob S

I'm still thinking Cheryl finishing on 130k+ and MAGIC! on 115k+

I wish Idina Menzel just drop.

Nicole is down to #13 actually.

and Happy :puke:

Ahh that's a bit better than I was expecting for this Nicole track tbh.

FFS. 'If I Go' sounds like a proper smash, so why is it struggling? :\
