A lot of OA/OS releases have been big flops recently (Tiring Game, Feel Good (It's Alright) and Saving My Life to name 3 that were hit really hard by OA/OS), I don't think the strategy is right for everyone really. I imagine these songs wouldn't have been big hits anyway but they would have got higher peaks and probably have sold more with held back releases.

Wouldn't surprise me if labels went back to held back releases for these type of acts soon, especially with 'Easy Love' and 'Alone No More' as recent examples benefitting so well from it.

I think John's relevance is on the wane anyway, I think it may have missed the top ten even with a held back release.

I agree with this. The song is A-listed on Radio 1 and still can only just make the Top 200. 'Come and Get It' was constantly played on radio and its chart run was over in a flash. In fact, I think that it would actually have benefited from being OA/OS, probably not hit #5 but would have had better sales/longevity.

'Alone No More' hasn't been held back that much has it? I've only been hearing it the past week or so. I think 'Easy Love' was just very fortunate, especially given TV/radio are lapping it up.

He first put it online in July.

It premiered about 2 months ago

Just came here to post that. C'mon Jessie.

98. Jessie Ware - Say You Love Me :re:

It wasn't top 1,500 just now, so hurrah :cheer:

Very surprised at how badly The Vamps are doing, even though the song itself isn't that great.

the teenage girls obviously don't have any money atm :kink:

I thought the song would have at least gone top 10, it's a bit disappointing for someone with their fanbase.

The reason the song isn't appearing to do as well as usual is because their past singles were released before iTunes stopped pre-orders from impacting the chart. They always freefell on iTunes quite quickly, they just use to have a much bigger lead due to pre-orders being included. They've probably not sold THAT much less than usual overall.

Jessie Ware top 40 again! :cheer:

Already number 37...

It's one of last year's best songs. Should have been huge!

Yep and as I said earlier, Kiss playlisted it 9 weeks upfront

So happy to see Jessie Ware get a good boost from X-factor, such a beautiful song. I hope someone will sing it on the live shows for X-factor and boost the song into the top 10 on iTunes. :kink:

"Say You Love Me" to #26 now.

I still believe that all Jessie needed was to perform one of hers songs at this years BRITs and she would have slayed so hard! :(
