Obviously with all the Adele fever, I didn't quite realise how well Little Mix were doing with this album.

The first three weeks of sales has them sat at 128,296 sales already and if they are rising again this week I would expect another 40k added on to that total. Very impressive seeing as 'Salute' is just short of 300,000 so this is easily going to sell more than half of Salute's overall total in just 4 weeks. Their popularity has not just held up but actually grown greatly which has never happened for an X Factor winner by their third era.

I almost forget they were ever on X Factor they've done so well post-show. They're almost mirroring Girls Aloud's career and I can see why - top quality tunes, likeable personalities, bright and fun videos and styling and they're in a class of their own when it comes to girlbands right now. GA had to battle with Sugababes for dominance for much of their career but Little Mix have no real rivals and are eating up the girlband market, and deservedly so.

Just goes to show that the current singles failure so far to hit the top 10 hasn't had much of an effect in terms of album sales.

It's still been a big hit and served it's purpose of selling the album brilliantly! A peak isn't all that matters. It's looking very likely to become one of their top5 biggest singles. And rightfully so.
Ouch at that fall for the Take That album - Aside from 'These Days' this album/era seems to have not clicked with the public despite high profile TV etc,
Epic for Adele - I wonder if she'll manage another big single from this album though due to the amount it's sold already and the cherry picking/sales that have already happened for the next planned single.

Only if it goes on streaming will it be as big as Hello

The 100k copies of the re-release that were shipped to stores were all faulty so they withdrew them from stores for a bit until new copies come in.

I suspect when single #2 is officially announced and promoted, they will then put that individual track on streaming services (if the whole album isn't up by then). They obviously aren't 100% against streaming or Hello would not be available (let alone her back catalogue). It is less influential on the album chart, so no need to rush into putting it on (not like she needs it right now).

Kylie Christmas Standard version 99p on google play today only.

Should grab a few more copies and push her up the charts

I'm calling Mariah for Top 40 on Friday, she's at 37 & 44 on iTunes and was in the Top 50 on Spotify last night which she now seems to have dropped out of, but her streaming must be pretty good.

I'd say this is a very safe bet, her streaming will fly up, now and she might even make the top 30.

Those would be impressive (for another artist) for weekly sales never mind daily sales!

Even day 6, her lowest total would easily be enough to have been number one for any one of 39 weeks of this year.!

Is that a week later than usual?

Is that a week later than usual?

Nope, it rose into the top 40 to #17 last year on the chart December 7th 2014 and rose into the top 40 to #14 on the chart December 8th 2013. Seems to be on schedule. :P

Its streaming and sales are doing quite well and it's started to get airplay (Heart have played it at least once today). Can see it rising a lot as the week progresses and it might make the top 20 by the end of the week.

'25' spiking back up to 100k sales on Saturday alone then dropping back to below 60k doesn't seem very realistic, I think it's more likely the 'Saturday' total also includes some Friday sales that weren't reported on time (maybe digital sales). Or maybe there were just far more people out shopping and casually picking up a copy on Saturday than yesterday I guess. Regardless of the daily distribution of sales, over 200k by Sunday is still fantastic and it's a good thing she beat even the highly questionable figure for days Oasis took to reach 1m to save another argument about whether she broke the record or not
