Ahh the memories. Watching that kinda makes me want Miley back in the charts.

Miley had two number 1's that year didn't she? these days she justs smokes weed and makes a pratt of herself

The Official chart was still fun to follow then, when streaming wasn't involved and the chart was more competitive with lots of major new releases every week unlike the poo that we have now.

I'm definitely on the anti-"slow tropical house" train. Waves especially irritates me and I just find the entire genre bland. I really miss the House renaissance of 2013 to be honest - Disclosure, Duke Dumont, Le Youth etc. That was a stellar year for chart music.

Yes but I still think 2005 was one of the best years for dance music, there was none of the slow stuff (apart from DJ Sammy's Why, which wasn't too bad), it was all mostly lively disco influenced stuff and dull electro hadn't taken over :)

2007 was one of the worst years for dance music for me, funky house died as a chart force and tech house/electro with no warmth started up like Put Your Hands Up For Detroit and The Creeps which kickstarted stuff like Rhymes, Jack, Chunky and Rinse And Repeat this decade.

2013 was OK but there was Chris Malinchak's So Good To Me, which was part of this genre :( And Disclosure' and Sam Smith's latch was also slow. I didn't like Le Youth's Cool but Dance With Me was good. My favourite one from that year was Breach's Everything You Never Had (We had it All).

I never liked Disclosure or Duke Dumont much, it just seemed a step down from the glorious dubstep/drum and bass boom of 2011 and 2012 to be into much more chilled, less energetic stuff like Latch or Need U (100%). Anyway Duke Dumont was responsible for tropical house with I Got U.

2015 revitalised the looped house of the mid 2000s (Philip George, Joe Stone) but it lacked the warmth and humour of the mid 2000s looped house, with just a cold distant sounding organ bassline and a beat.

Disclosure were also responsible for the similar sounding future bass we have now, like Chainsmokers - Roses, DJ Snake - Middle and Cheat Codes/ Kris Kross Amsterdam - Sex.

You know in the 'NOW' TV adverts they always say "An incredible TWELVE number ones!" or "Featuring an unbelievable NINE number ones!!"

What is it going to be for the next one? "Featuring ONE number one that wouldn't f***ing go away for 3 months!"

Actually Drake doesn't appear on NOWs any more does he? So they might not even have that one!

I expect the series will be scaled back to just two editions per year like in the mid-1980s and early 1990s.

He appeared on an MOS compilation Rapper's Delight so there's still hope. I just hope it doesn't end up like NOW 16 with no #1s. Speaking of artists who don't allow their music onto compilations, Beyoncé doesn't allow her music onto compilations but she's been appearing on them lately

The next Now album won't be out till late July, there's no way there won't be other #1s from now until then (maybe only 2 or 3 though!)
It's nearly exactly half way into 2016 and there hasn't been a proper female #1 single yet.

Kungs increasing the lead... Drake is down to 0.40, that should be enough for Kungs to grab the official #1 next week!!!

OneRepublic up to #15

Dua Lipa also up to #23

Ariana's Into You #30

~146 In the End - Linkin park - Such a tune, love this!

Why's it back, its not 59 p?

And go on Baddiel, Skinner, Lightning Seeds, it has to be the best football song ever made!

Happy to see One Replublic on the climb! Hope it can eventually go Top 10!

It seems to be reacting well to radio 1 airplay so id imagine with capital it would be top 5 on itunes. They sometimes jump on board with indie/pop when they see it doing well so theres still hope.
