Such a shame this won't translate into the official chart where Shape Of You probably has another 5 weeks left at the top....

How wonderful brilliantly wonderful to see Steps number 1. I know it wont go to the top officially but the single should certainly chart. While i did believe the album could go top 5 i had feared the success of the single.

Steps No.1 on iTunes!? Never thought I'd see the day  Amazing achievement for them though, 20 years since their first hit. If they get some decent promotion the next couple of days they could perhaps scrape the top 20 of the official chart.

Well the charts are still capable of surprising me, who knew! :o Won't get anywhere near officially ofc., but that's certainly something of an achievement for an act like them to get number 1 in 2017!

Deeper Shade of Blue and One For Sorrow are my faves from them, shame they're often overshadowed by all the cheesy pop like Tragedy and 5,6,7,8, they were definitely capable of better.

I can see Ant & Dec having a big impact on SOTD. After all, JHud's Spotlight hit the iTunes top 20 and LGRTR of course went to #1 4 years ago (pre-streaming era, I know).

I guess it as enevitible that tit would start gaining on them with his Corrs castaway song.

Hopefully ant and Dec will boost steps tomorrow

Think it will return them to #1 (Seeing as it looks like Ed will take over shortly) and give their 'Greatest Hits' a boost.

Not sure what more promo they can do - The have done This Morning and BBC breakfast, they have SNTA tomorrow and Lorraine on Monday.

Absolutely thrilled for Steps! Certainly never expected new music from them to be so well received. :o Felt really happy about this all day!  I hope it is the case that they're performing Scared of the Dark on Saturday Night Takeaway (rather than one of their classic hits).
They best perform it. With a dance. I'm ready.

Yessss! I need them to slay my soul.

I just can't believe they're number one. Definitely one of the biggest shock number ones for a while!
