i came here to say what an APPAULING video, the narrative was convoluted, poorly acted, cringeworthy, bloated and a chore to watch all in all

 

one of the worst videos i've seen in a long time and it clearly had a lot of money spent on it which adds insult to injury

it reminded me of an episode of family guy it was that all over the place

I'm glad everyone else thinks the same because I was coming here to say how f***ing dreadful the video was. :( I suspected it would from the preview tbh but thought I'd give it a chance.

That video is goddamn awful but a friend of mine pointed out that maybe the US understands it better with the NBA and familiar cameos.

I also loved it, found it really fun and hectic, that's what's she's known for really crazy and over the top videos. Hopefully this should help the song climb up the charts, or at least out peak 'BA' in the UK.

I like the video tbh. What were you all expecting? She literally said the video would be a mess.

 

Of course i'd prefer Nicki and Katy serving sexy and dancing like Side To Side but i guess Katy didn't want it. I hope it at least goes viral a bit like Bon Appétit.

Tbh I can see it being like 'Birthday' in that the video was clearly meant to be a huge viral moment but just ended up flopping a bit :lol:

I can't even properly defend this :lol:

 

What I do like about it though is the intentional complete mess of it all, like it seems like it's deliberately taking on the polar opposite of Bad Blood in being the worst squad ever and being completely unpolished. But, there's too many ideas and the execution of it all just leads to a mess of a plot, so much so that I'm not sure what it is. Kinda fun but it's a struggle :(

This actually makes sense, especially if you take into account that Taylor bashed the media in Blank Space.

 

The video is a complete mess. But then again, that's the Internet. Comedic cameos, an utterly cringeworthy plot, and most importantly... dank memes. Backpack Kid and the Shooting Stars memes have been around for a while (Doug The Pug as well), and I think there may be more than can be spotted if you look hard enough. This is Katy celebrating the Internet, cringe and all.

Jeeeezus Christ. What a hot mess. But I actually liked it. She has embraced her crapness and gone full circle. I don't at all think it was planned but she's done well t try and turn everything around by being in on and running with the joke of this era being a disaster for her.

 

As another note I'm really surprised she got Nicki to appear in it. When 'Nicki' first showed up wearing the visor I thought they'd hired a body double.

Yeah, I agree. It's definitely not as funny as they think it is, but it's still humourous!
