Omg Eric you're still alive

:hi: what brings you back x

I thought it was someone pretending to be Eric Blob because of what Mart!n said so I checked the username history and it wasn't!

Don't know much about Eric Blob's posting style obviously but I know he is a big part of the history of Buzzjack!

Omg Eric Blob returns and I agree with him for once!

You’re all very welcome that he returned to respond to my comment.

OMG, my prediction came true

Omg Eric actual Blob !!

For the newcomers, he was once an iTunes thread regular. And famously prophesied that Nicki Minaj would stop having UK top 30 hits, which since 'Anaconda' she hasn't... excluding featured appearances on five songs that is.

Don't forget the comments about "adult entertainment" that he made

He also generally had a good taste in music as well. If you read through iTunes threads from 2012 and 2013 then you'll see the iconic posts that he made, I read through those threads every now and then just for a giggle

I remember when I first joined people thought I was an Eric Blob alias because of the very similar music taste.

I remember him, Bre and Abdul Fareek from my guest days reading the itunes weekly thread. Eric and Bre were wise and knowlegeable about music , Bre hated Maroon 5 even the Yogscast and Sparkles* parody that appeared on the itunes chart one week and Abdul Fareek was a bit of an eccentric and humorous, posting in the third person.

I think I remember that prophesy from my guest days :o There were also ones made that Jessie J singles would flop after Calling All Hearts iirc by somebody.

What do you think will happen in pop in 2018?

It's always fun to refer back to these predictions at the end of the year to see how right/wrong you were...

I've made 20 predictions:

Cardi B will be one of the biggest stars of the year, featuring on A LOT of tracks

Rita Ora's album will be out before May

Beyonce will surprise release another album

Jess Glynne will come back to muted success

Years & Years will make a big return

Bastille will get a #1 album

Louisa Johnson will finally release her next single in the first half of the year

Rihanna will be quiet for another year

Little Mix will release a new single in the first half of the year

Little Mix will get another #1 album in Q4

Little Mix will announce a hiatus before the end of the year

The debut performance for Little Mix's single will be on the BGT Final

Liam Payne will get a #1

Jax Jones - Breathe will be a top 5 hit

Ariana Grande will return in a HUGE way, particularly in the UK

Dua Lipa will squeeze out another single from her album with an added feature

Clean Bandit will get a #1 album

Gaga will cancel at least 5 of her Vegas shows due to poor health

The Weeknd will have a #1 single

Troye Sivan will have a hit in the UK

Post your predictions in this thread!

Always interesting to return to these threads a year later and see what came true and what didn't!

I have to say, my predictions were mostly absolute STINKERS - I've boldened the ones that came true above. Only 5!

I'll make a 2019 thread before the end of the year

Everyone gets really excited about the prospect of actually having a decent number of #1s, then Drake releases a Latin single featuring Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber which spends 30 weeks at the top.

Get rid of the latin bit and the two features and replace '30' with '9' and I was right!

1. little mix split after trying to release a second single. They might even try to cover, If You Wanna (Have Some Fun) (Are You Having Fun?).

2. Ava Max does a Julia Michaels

3. Latin trend dies doon

4. Pure pop continues its comeback

5. Adele returns

Technically Beyoncé DID surprise release an album - just with JAY Z as The Carters!

I'd argue that Years & Years comeback was 'big' - they certainly seem more popular (i.e., more of a household name) now, and "If You're Over Me" was pretty big.

I agree to an extent, but their album has somewhat underperformed, it hasn’t even been certified silver yet.

Plus Drake was on a Latin single, it just didn't go near #1!
