Yeh true I feel LM have broken through to the more general public with the last two albums though!

Yeh, they are definitely a bigger act than Rita in terms of fanbase and have more appeal across wider markets but there are also a lot of similarities.

Little Mix sold 47,000 physical CDs last week with same sort of music Rita does (not saying Rita should/can get near that number) so there is the potential there for that sort of act to still sell CDs in good numbers.

MTSWY actually climbs the mids today! #88 with 2.7k sold.

Golden upto #48 today, 1.6k sold so far this week!

Less so than an older act but should still be able to shift a lot of CDs. Little Mix sell a lot of physical copies and they release the same sort of music to the same sort of fanbase and have single chart success.

Little Mix fan base is a lot lot younger than Rita Ora trust me. If you go to a Little Mix concert there is a lot of 6-12 year olds. Rita is definitely more aimed at teenagers to 20 somethings.

Whichever way you look at it, Rita's album is seriously under-performing, at least on week one.

I'd still refute this claim and I have several times already in this topic - my personal prediction was between #4 and #6 with perhaps 35k sales. Looking at the mids this week, a sale of 35k would project Rita to finish in a VERY comfortable 2nd, which was way outside my expectations. She's actually projected to finish only 1.5k behind #6, which isn't an especially notable gap despite the #10 projection. Sales all round are lower than I anticipated for Q4 (Take That aside) - all of last week's top 3 did lower than I expected despite good sales regardless, for example. So my unrealistic expectations aside, I think she's actually doing fine.

exactly, I was expecting her to go to about #6 based on what was out this week, a potential #10 placement does feel like an underperformance. these were buzzjack's predictions anyhow

Where will it debut?

#1 [ 5 ] ** [17.24%]

#2 [ 9 ] ** [31.03%]

#3 [ 4 ] ** [13.79%]

#4 [ 4 ] ** [13.79%]

#5 [ 3 ] ** [10.34%]

Top 10 [ 3 ] ** [10.34%]

Top 20 [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]

Top 40 [ 1 ] ** [3.45%]

First week sales?

1 - 10k [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]

11 - 20k [ 1 ] ** [3.45%]

21 - 30k [ 12 ] ** [41.38%]

31 - 40k [ 9 ] ** [31.03%]

41 - 50k [ 4 ] ** [13.79%]

51 - 60k [ 2 ] ** [6.90%]

61k + [ 1 ] ** [3.45%]

in which case top 10 and <20k is underperforming, though Buzzjack over-predicted as usual too.

hopefully she'll have some stability once the new single gets going.

Oh great, Mariah up 2 places since yesterday. Can’t be doing with Christmas songs entering the top 40 in November. It might only be one Xmas song but it’s one too many

I think they were expecting a flop after Calvin shelved it. It should have been released ages ago with Calvin music.

She is doing better than Cheryl though!

Cheryl who hasn't got a new album out to compare with :o

11 Jonas Blue, Liam Payne & Lennon Stella - Polaroid

missing it again

I also think that in 2 months time, Take That will get 0 album streams, while Rita will still get good streaming points to keep her top 40 just cos the album has 5/6 hits that will keep being streamed and generating stream points

it's the same as Anne Marie or Dua

EVERYONE

WAIT

STOOOOPPPPPP!!!!

18 YEARS SINCE HOLLIER LLLTW WAS RELEASED!! WILL WE GET A CHART NO.1 FLASHBACK OF I4 ON FRIDAY?! WILL IT MAKE A RETURN TO THE CHART?!

The Big Pop Girl albums never seem to peak that highly anymore- they might hang around for a while if lucky.

Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga both had #1 albums this year tho. x

The top 3 albums all sold close to 4000 since the last update.

Take That will end near 110,000 i think.

I got an irate response when I supposedly compared TT and Rita, so just be careful!

Even with 0 sales in 2 months, TT would still have sold more than Rita.

It's like saying that it's better to sell 100 k in a year than 1 million in a week.

TT can afford to stop selling - although I doubt that will happen soon-, Rita can't. TT don't need streaming for their albums because they sell really well.

I really think Rita will have some longevity and decent sales with this album - she was always going to struggle releasing this late in Q4 but I think she’ll get solid sales for the rest of the year and then it’ll be a consistent seller through Q1 too.
I'm not so sure as there will maybe only be 1 more release from it after releasing so many pre album singles
