Terrible. She is fast becoming a one hit wonder, neither have even troubled the top 100 on iTunes.

^ cause they aren't singles, have no airplay or promo and she's not a big name. People aren't checking for Ava Max, they just liked Sweet But Psycho. She's far from a household name, and even bigger names than Ava also struggle with promotional tracks...! She'll be fine with the next single.

I think both tracks are good personally. They're definitely album track material, but strong album tracks in my eyes. Nothing's been a patch on Sweet But Psycho but that's a high bar to beat and I'm happy to bop to these until the single arrives.

I actually agree. I do love BS&T more than the average person it appears, though. Such a bop  I'd be happy with having that as like a post album single #5 sort of single to end the era with etc..

'Freaking Me Out' has some super cringe lyrics but luckily I can overlook that a lot of the time. So I don't mind the song.

Hmmm. I seem to be the only person really enjoying Freaking Me Out. Which is fine by me!
FMO is just straight up bad, glad it's not a single  BST is ok but neither have anything on even So Am I, let alone SBP.

Her album is already shaping up to be very bland, generic noneventful and boring. A shame.
The issue she is going to have is that SBP and SAI will be old by the time the album appears - SBP was released in November last year and SAI 5 months ago.

This won't matter so much if she can keep the hits coming - Your Song being close to 18 months old by the time Phoenix came out didn't hurt Rita because she had a string of hits to pass the time.

That’s the issue though ‘If she can keep the hits coming’ - it looks like the buzz tracks are not going to do anything (assuming that is their plan - just to keep fans interested and get music out there), if she doesn’t release her next ‘proper’ single until November for example then that’s 1+ years since SBP and 8 months since SAI, for an act like Ava she needs constant hits to sell an album.

How beige. These are just further proof that she isn't the upcoming pop-messiah like some people expected.

SBP was a hit here way over a year ago and globally it peaked in December (although in the US just a few months ago) so I think she's a bit unlucky that it has been such a slow grower in different markets and hard to follow up with promo etc.

I'm afraid she won't get any more hits on her own but might get a good feature slot for another European hit.

I'm totally missing what makes 'Freaking Me Out' so terrible...

I have to agree! I mean sure, the lyrics are certainly on the silly side, but I think it's cute for that reason. The melody of "So much so that it's freaking me out" is lovely. Overall... it's okay! Particularly in the context that it's simply a promo track / possible album track.

I prefer Blood, Sweat & Tears and honestly wouldn't have been mad if it had been a single, but I hope it being passed on means that she has something great lined up for the next single.
