It keeps being pointed out that it’s not been sent to radio though. Why would the label opt against that? That makes it lack “full single treatment” for a major artist such as Katy Perry. Every prior single had radio, including Small Talk.

It was meant to be a single, but they scrapped it prior to release. Why is that so difficult to understand lmao.

Why would they not release the vertical video/remixes that they spent money on?

Preach. Why would the label deliberately hold it back from radio? They would surely want radio to be all over it ASAP?

Is it a case of it definitely not being sent to radio, or radio just simply not playlisting it after what happened with 'Small Talk'?

I'm not entirely convinced by this "buzz single" theory.

It's genuinely the case of it not being sent to radio — I gather plans changed after how poorly 'Small Talk' did.

I don't really understand their strategy. It all seemed promising at the start of the year (in theory) with the features and then 'Never Really Over' being an undeniably great comeback... which they let die.

It definitely has not been sent to radio.

It's exactly the same situation as Strip by Little Mix.. I don't get why everyone is so confused/adamant that it is a single!? Lmao.
If it is a buzz single then I'm not sure what their strategy is. I mean, buzz for what? They need to focus on getting her actual singles to do well before worrying about 'buzz' singles - surely the whole point of them is to capitalise on the hype that's been gained from the official singles?
It was meant to be the second single, with the video filmed and, I assume, the remixes commissioned, but for some baffling reson they moved onto Small Talk. Instead of completely abandoning the song, they decided to release it with the video and remixes, just not send it to radio. There's no real strategy, I assume they're just not wanting this track hanging over them any longer and they'll start fresh next year?

for the record, i don't think anyone's confused that it's not a single - i think they just don't buy it :kink:

Literally no one has bought it - that’s the problem

!!

Also can Buzzjack Music Forum let Official Charts Company and Billboard.com know that it's not a single please, because both have referred to it as one.

What has this got to do with anything? It wasn't a single from the moment of its release, when nobody COULD have bought it. It's been pointed out more than once.

It was a pun! :kink:
