January 6, 20206 yr In 2019 this was the week Baby Shark finally reached the UK top 10, a whole year later it's coming back to the top 40 :cheer:
January 6, 20206 yr Lol at the resurgence of Baby Shark! That opening for Justin is pretty poor considering the hype around it as lead single for the new album. I am sure it will end up peaking top 5, if not higher. Number one seems unlikely without a UK promo push.
January 6, 20206 yr Looks like Stormzy may just do the double this week finally - Album has been reduced to £4.99 and seems to be ahead of Lewis Capaldi on Amazon & iTunes Best Sellers.
January 6, 20206 yr I'm happier to see Shotgun and Baby Shark back in the top 40 than I am to see SYL back in the top 10
January 7, 20206 yr I'm happier to see Shotgun and Baby Shark back in the top 40 than I am to see SYL back in the top 10 Both songs should stay in 2018 where they belong
January 7, 20206 yr If only Tones had a slightly bigger increase in streams to be reset and have three more weeks at the top. :(
January 7, 20206 yr If only Tones had a slightly bigger increase in streams to be reset and have three more weeks at the top. :( 11 weeks not enough for you?? IIRC the week it went into ACR, it wouldn't have been #1 anyway.
January 7, 20206 yr 11 weeks not enough for you?? IIRC the week it went into ACR, it wouldn't have been #1 anyway. It would have been back to #1 last week though.
January 7, 20206 yr It would have been back to #1 last week though. I didn't realise that - I must have missed that in the sales commentary?
January 7, 20206 yr I didn't realise that - I must have missed that in the sales commentary? To clarify - the week it went to ACR it would not have been #1 even if it was on SCR, but last Friday (when Stormzy was #1), if Dance Monkey was not on ACR it would have gone back up to #1.
January 7, 20206 yr If only Tones had a slightly bigger increase in streams to be reset and have three more weeks at the top. :( It was less than 1% short of a reset. :P
January 7, 20206 yr has a “best of the decade” chart/playlist been released? that could explain why shotgun is returning so high
January 7, 20206 yr ...and because it's awesome. But yeah, mostly that. it was #50 while on ACR last week
January 7, 20206 yr Shotgun was also #1 on Amazon earlier in the week, so might be another Alexa work
January 7, 20206 yr Shotgun was also #1 on Amazon earlier in the week, so might be another Alexa work No x Alexa playing songs is no different to someone putting on Hot Hits UK and playing the songs Spotify want you to hear so can we stop pls.
January 8, 20206 yr As Shallow was the biggest hit on Amazon last year, it's seems to be clear that people who listen to music via Amazon are a bit older demographic and thus might listen to older/different tracks than people who use AM and Spotify. The market share is also less significant. Edited January 8, 20206 yr by SKOB
January 8, 20206 yr No x Alexa playing songs is no different to someone putting on Hot Hits UK and playing the songs Spotify want you to hear so can we stop pls. but actually it isn't, Alexa repeats songs unlike Spotify playlists which plays all songs from a playlist randomly without repeats I did experiment a lot with Alexa a Lot and a typical session would be: Last Xmas-Mariah-River-Fairytale-Shakin-Ariana-River-Slade-Brenda-Kelly-River-John Legend-Katy Perry-River thats how River got to #1
