December 11, 20204 yr Exactly right! How unintelligent do they think the public are? Actually, they may be about right there looking at Chris' responses... Of course it's politically convenient for them to mention that now so they will. Absolutely this heightened sense of drama is because the PM finds himself in zugzwang, in other words he is screwed whenever he makes the next move. Accept the deal (which is the most likely option) and he will have the headbangers in his party screaming 'betrayal'; reject the deal and he will plunge the UK into economic and actual chaos. By making the right noises and agreeing to continue talks he gets to delay the inevitability of this final decision - he is both the saviour who saved Brexit and didn't back down, and also the leader who got the deal over the line. Like death and taxes, eventually he will have to make a decision one way or the other and fall on his sword. :D like the chess player who’s next move is checkmate no matter what he does so he just throws all the pieces over the floor
December 11, 20204 yr Boris Tweeted this last night: "Now is the time for the public and businesses to get ready for the Australian option on January 1st." It's a lot better than No Deal.

December 11, 20204 yr Someone stop me from making "Australian-style deal" change to "Afghanistan-style deal" in the board's filter...
December 11, 20204 yr A clear example of what I referred to in my previous post where they tried to confuse the message regarding the two stages of a deal. ‘Can you absolutely guarantee we can get a trade deal in place by next December?’ The immediate reply is ‘well we already have a deal’ @1202631545078587392

Even the Tories know it is going to be a complete mess but they are ok as it doesn't effect them.

December 11, 20204 yr Leaving without a deal would represent a failure of statecraft. Not my words; they are the words of Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson.

December 11, 20204 yr We are fine over in the north of Ireland with our best of both worlds and sammy Wilson’s face getting more purple by the minute as he again realises the only loyalty is shown by him and his fellow ‘countrymen’ couldn’t care less about his wee country. He wanted brexit to divide Ireland more and he ends up uniting the island more economically - wonderful stuff!!

December 12, 20204 yr How many times. By saying he had an OVEN-READY deal he meant the Withdrawal Agreement that was signed through by MP's after the election. Okay he wasn't clear enough then and I didn't even realise but he is being clear now. How could he have an oven-ready deal on trade agreements a year before? December 12, 20204 yr Anyway who needs the EU. From The Express online. THE UK has signed a trade deal with Vietnam, bringing the number of countries signed up with Brexit Britain to 57 with agreements totalling £193 billion. Trade secretary Liz Truss announced the deal on Twitter in a post celebrating the huge strides forward already being made by the UK outside of the EU. While talks with Brussels remain stagnant, dozens of countries across the world have already signed up to partner with the UK. Ms Truss said: "Today we secured a trade deal with Vietnam." "We have now agreed deals with 57 countries, covering £193bn of trade. "This is unprecedented. No country has ever moved so fast to negotiate so many deals simultaneously. "Well done to our brilliant negotiators." Today's deal replaces the existing EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and will ensure Britain does not lose access to preferential tariffs in one of the fastest-growing and most open economies in Asia. The British Embassy in Hanoi said: "Today, UK International Trade Secretary Liz Truss and Vietnam Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh concluded the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement. "This will be a further boost to UK-Vietnam bilateral trade, which has tripled between 2010 and 2019 to £5.7bn." Within the deal, almost all tariffs will be eliminated after seven years including key trade in machinery and pharmaceutical products. According to figures from the Vietnamese government, the UK is the country's largest export market in Europe. Edited December 12, 20204 yr by CHRIS-TMAS

Okay he wasn't clear enough then and I didn't even realise but he is being clear now. How could he have an oven-ready deal on trade agreements a year before? omg you are literally trolling now. WE KNOW THAT AND WE SAID THAT LAST YEAR. THE POINT IS HE WAS ELECTED ON THE BASIS ON IMPLYING HE HAD AN OVEN READY TRADE DEAL. There’s no point being clear now 12 months after the election. You’ve literally said he wasn’t clear and you didn’t realise.
December 12, 20204 yr omg you are literally trolling now. WE KNOW THAT AND WE SAID THAT LAST YEAR. THE POINT IS HE WAS ELECTED ON THE BASIS ON IMPLYING HE HAD AN OVEN READY TRADE DEAL. Alright I admit he wasn't clear but we don't know if that was intentional or not to mislead the electorate.
December 12, 20204 yr Author Alright I admit he wasn't clear but we don't know if that was intentional or not to mislead the electorate. Yes we do. It was politically convenient to conflate the two last year to give the public the impression that Brexit would be over. Boris Johnson is a liar. He made-up a quote and got sacked from the Times, he lied to the leader of the Conservatives (denied to him he was having an affair) and was sacked. He also gave the address of a journalist to his friend so that his friend could have the journalist beaten up. He is a LIAR Chris. A liar. Is that clear?
