December 14, 20204 yr In fairnes the Uk did seem to give up a lot of its fishing rights over the last 40 years but it works out that all the countries get their fair share overall!
December 15, 20204 yr Author @1338878071483543568 Bigger buzz is that BuzzJack called this more right than Robert Peston.
December 16, 20204 yr Seems like it was Fake News again. No word yet. In fact Sky still saying No Deal's the likeliest outcome.
December 17, 20204 yr Boris has cancelled a top-secret oversees trip for tomorrow with no reason given so can we read anything in to that? Also no sittings of Parliament have been announced for after tomorrow. Rumours today of a short extension, Sky saying maybe just 4 weeks.

December 17, 20204 yr Author I haven't seen anything about this — how would it work? It wouldn't. The transition period will end on 31 December 2020. Under the Withdrawal Agreement, the two sides could have extended the transition if they decided to do so by 1 July 2020. But the UK and the EU did not agree to do so by the deadline.
December 17, 20204 yr It wouldn't. I thought so — more nonsense then. Edited December 17, 20204 yr by blacksquare
December 17, 20204 yr I thought so — more nonsense then. Was just a Twitter rumour that Sky must have picked up on but is needed imo if a deal can't be reached soon, even if just to get the required legislation through the 27 parliaments. Surely nothing to stop both sides agreeing to a short extension. Edited December 17, 20204 yr by CHRIS-TMAS
December 19, 20204 yr Brexit: No trade deal unless 'substantial shift' from EU, UK says There will be no post-Brexit trade deal between the UK and EU unless there's a "substantial shift" from Brussels in the coming days, a government source has told the BBC. It is understood there is likely to be a decision before Christmas on whether or not a deal can be reached. The two sides remain at odds over how many years it will take to phase in new fisheries arrangements. An EU source said it was "in both sides' interest to reach a fair deal". Link It could be more posturing, but the prospects of a no deal seem quite high. The last thing the UK needs is no deal in the new year with the current ongoing pandemic. :( Edited December 19, 20204 yr by Envoirment
December 19, 20204 yr Just was about to post that and seems it could go either way at present. UK says EU needs to shift and vice-versa so seems a bit of stalemate still.
December 19, 20204 yr f*** sake things are bad enough as it is, agree a f***ing deal. At any cost? I agree with you but we can't just give in to everything the EU wants. No Deal looking more likely according to Sky News. Good job we have a tough PM who won't just roll over. Edited December 19, 20204 yr by CHRIS-TMAS

Good job we have a tough PM who won't just roll over. I think we probably can at this point. The UK literally has no pride left to lose and I don’t think anyone but complete Brexit loons actually care about the fish.

Good job we have a tough PM who won't just roll over. Yes. Literally any cost. ECJ? Yes sign us up. Single market? Inject that shit directly into my veins Roll over. That tough PM stood up today and told the nation they could have Christmas looking like he’d been dragged backwards through a hedge. The most powerful man in the country doesn’t even have the decency to use a f***ing brush on his hair. Just so we are clear on how non-existent his standards are

I’d say people who work in the fishing industry probably care tbf! https://twitter.com/faisalislam/status/1340...4941410305?s=24 And it begins!
