how does the recurrent rule work exactly? after xxx weeks I guess you're moved to the recurrent chart

but can you go back to the normal chart or you're banned forever?

guess Mariah is not recurrent cos All I Want for Xmas keeps coming back?

in the Billboard Hot 100 it's:

after 20 weeks and below #50 -> OUT

after 52 weeks and below #25 -> OUT

Mariah comes back every year because she does enough to reach the top 25 and thus can re-enter. Any catalogue songs cannot re-enter either unless they reach the top 50 regardless of how many weeks they've spent in the chart, so you get the post-Christmas chart being a ton of Christmas songs between 1-50, then only 1-2 more recent ones in the rest of the chart.

you don't get runs like 24-x-23-x-25-x though so I guess you have to increase by so much to actually be able to re-enter.

I thought “ROCKSTAR” was going to be one of those tracks that doesn’t connect with the public cause it’s too good to be a hit, glad to be proved wrong tho :dancing:
Unfortunately I think Vera will miss the Top 50 unless she gets a sales boost tomorrow. Pity she wont keep Perfect behind her lol
would never had predicted 1 week ago that DaBaby would climb to #1 this week

really thought Ari/Bieber would walk it, but that was before hearing the song

you know it's a bad song when it doesn't pass the Westlife fan club standards :)

hehe

Rockstar does feel like quite a random #1 but I I prefer it to Toosie Slide and Stuck with u so not mad
Ariana Beiber could drop as far as 4 that i didnt expect bet beiber be theowing a tantrum he no longer getting easier number 1s

I knew about the first rule but had no idea about the second one - is that a relatively new invention? Otherwise how did songs like Radioactive & SAIL stay in the top 100 for so long?

they invented the rule as a response to Radioactive/Sail staying in the chart for absolutely ages.

Albums sales are so bad, i think Dua Lipa will be number 1 and could get the lowest weekly sales ever for an album.

i hope she doesnt get it then, i hate for her to have that awful record added to her name...

So I guess 3-5 in the albums will end up being the top 3. ANOTHER week at #1 for Dua :cheeseblock:
but looks like the #1 album should be < 8k :/

With album sales this low, Charli XCX is all but guaranteed a top-ten debut for her album released this Friday.

I wonder how much Lady Gaga will be debut with in a few weeks. Anyone know what Joanne opened with?

26,694 (at #3).

I'd love another week at #1 for dua but not if it means breaking THAT record
