May 14, 20206 yr Lewis is pushing to try and get the #1 album on his Facebook page now What a close week! Hayley now #4 in one update! (And likely #5 officially as Drake may overtake) Wow... he actually cares that much about having an umpteenth week at #1 on a random week?
May 14, 20206 yr > people not wanting Dua to have the record for lowest selling #1 album > so they don't want it to be #1 at all :orangutan: If I were Dua I'd still want to get more weeks at #1 even if it's on low sales, not like anyone other than diehard chart stans would ever be aware of her breaking that record :kink:
May 14, 20206 yr If Hayley had actually held on it would’ve looked like a worse record to be broken but when it’s an album what’s already been #1 and will be a big seller that’s gonna get it (in Duas case) or the biggest album of last year that gets it (Lewis) it doesn’t look as bad. I wonder if lewis’s recent post will be enough to give him the #1. I know the sales have been terrible but this #1 album race has been exciting.
May 14, 20206 yr Wow... he actually cares that much about having an umpteenth week at #1 on a random week? He’s pretty good tbh at close chart battles and pushing for fans to give him the #1. Credit where it’s due he’s smart in a sense and it’s nice when we see artists care as well!
May 14, 20206 yr I think if Lewis goes back to #1 again then he matches or beats the record for most separate runs at #1 for an album? So maybe he's just into very niche chart stats  edit: actually it seems he wants it to be #1 for the 1 year anniversary of its release which is fair xx
May 14, 20206 yr At least 1975 and Gaga will have high opening sales. Though after that it's tough to predict how well Ellie will do?
May 14, 20206 yr Lewis has got both versions of the album back into the top 40 and one into the top 20 on iTunes so he might just well get #1 Edited May 14, 20206 yr by LMLou
May 14, 20206 yr Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if in this climate Ellie's opening sales are similar to Marina's for 'LOVE + FEAR'. I'm serious, no one's in HMV to casually pick up her album and she doesn't have a mass of stans that will buy loads of formats. Edited May 14, 20206 yr by Andrew.

May 14, 20206 yr I am wondering if All Time Low will be able to challenge for #1 with the release of their physicals on June 5th, should hopefully go top 10 at least!
May 14, 20206 yr A little bit of effort from Hayley or the D-Day Darlings from their record companies could have seen them easily get the #1. Not surprised Dua is #1 again with the download back down to £4.99 to help sales in a quiet week. Really hope Lewis gets the #1 to celebrate the 1st anniversary - will be interesting to see if his campaign gives it a boost on iTunes later.
May 14, 20206 yr I am wondering if All Time Low will be able to challenge for #1 with the release of their physicals on June 5th, should hopefully go top 10 at least! I think they have a real chance if sales stay at the same levels - definitely on course for a Top 5 with all the formats and exclusive versions.
May 14, 20206 yr Sadly it looks like Dua Lipa will hold the unwanted record of the lowest-weekly sales for a U.K. NO.1 album; Ms.Lipa needs to achieve over 7,948 sales to not claim the undesired title... Turns out my prediction of Rockstar claiming the number-one spot has proven true. Although I didn’t expect Drake to be in the runner-up position flanked by Ari/Bieb and the aforementioned Rockstar. The sales between 3 and 4 are very tight to I expect Ari/Bieb to finish in a very unexpected fourth place. Shocking as I thought this song based on name alone would be a surefire number one. I guess neither Bieber or Ariana have that star power we initially thought they did... Let’s hope Gaga/Ari can fare better in a fortnight. I'm not really surprised tbh, their latest releases kinda flopped (Yummy, Don't Call Me Angel, Boyfriend).
May 14, 20206 yr Please can have update On Regard and raye Marshmello & Halsey Headie one Pour the milk Sufa Mesa
May 14, 20206 yr 'Stuck With U' is still going to chart higher than anything off Bieber's last album, Bieber's name power is clearly not what it once was. (I have long thought that 'name power' is mostly overrated as a concept in the streaming era anyway but that's besides the point) It's also a very similar song to 'Lover' by Taylor Swift which did significantly worse than this is doing.
May 14, 20206 yr I wouldn't bother about the record for low sales I'd say next week it's gonna be probably even lower
May 14, 20206 yr Which is stupid really, because she's still has the most consumed album of the week, it's no slight on her success or how well she's currently performing. It's not like this was her debut week or she's having the unwanted record of biggest drop from #1 etc. I agree. Tbh the lowest weekly sales for a #1 record doesn't bother me. Dua should rack up as many weeks as she can. Future Nostalgia will go down as one of the best pop albums of the century. [/hyperbole]
