May 10, 20206 yr It will be interesting to see if Ariana can score her 6th #1 this week. I still think it is a 3 horse race between her/JB, Drake and Doja. Hopefully the mids tomorrow give a clear picture how close it is. Personally, I think Ariana will get it.
May 10, 20206 yr Think it looks like Drake probably will get the #1 back unless Ari & Justin pick up more on streams during the week then.
May 10, 20206 yr I reckon its going to be another close one  loving the recent chart battles for the #1. :D At least been at home we get to follow the charts more. :magic:
May 10, 20206 yr I was expecting higher for vera Lynn today than number 6. Really hope little mix can stay top 15
May 10, 20206 yr not sure if it has already been posted but the second version of We'll Meet Again with Katherine Jenkins is at Number 28 the Occ posted it on their FB page
May 10, 20206 yr Wonder why they can't just combine the 2 versions, especially in the a case like this where the song its rebounding for a monumental occasion
May 10, 20206 yr From the OCC. Since Friday when this week's Official Chart sales window opened, Vera's signature song has accumulated the most downloads, outperforming the likes of The Weeknd's former eight-week Number 1 Blinding Lights and Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber's new collaboration Stuck With U on the format. Vera has a strong presence on streaming too - We'll Meet Again has racked up 588,000 plays in the last 48 hours. As the song predates the Official Chart, We'll Meet Again has never entered the Top 40 before. Should Vera hold onto her momentum, We'll Meet Again will become her first Top 40 hit since Travellin' Home in June 1957. Aged 103, Vera would also become the oldest living person to score a Top 40 single, overtaking Captain Tom Moore who scored a Number 1 last month aged 100.
May 10, 20206 yr I thought they might be combined. They are after all both on ACR. On BigTop40 they are 3 and 11 with Amanda Holden at 2 and LLAS at No 1 which makes even less sense than it did last week lol
May 10, 20206 yr They're not combined because the Katherine Jenkins version is Katherine's song for her album, in duet with Vera, it'd be the same if it was any other song with an original and a cover version that happens to feature the original performer.
May 10, 20206 yr One version is for charity, thats why they cannot be combined I think it's like the 2 versions of Sam Smith Lay me down that were never combined
May 10, 20206 yr How is that different to the version of This Is Me from the TGS Reimagined, which was combined with the original? I don't recall Keala Settle being lead artist on that version but I may be wrong. Edit: well I guess neither version was for charity... Edited May 10, 20206 yr by jimwatts
May 10, 20206 yr Matt Lucas was No5 on 1st Look and managed to stay Top 40. Unfortunately I fear Vera will fall off quicker on iTunes than Baked Potato did and won't sell many copies after tomorrow. Does she have a shot at staying Top 40 ?
May 10, 20206 yr How is that different to the version of This Is Me from the TGS Reimagined, which was combined with the original? I don't recall Keala Settle being lead artist on that version but I may be wrong. She was, it was credited as Keala Settle, Kesha & Missy Elliott.
May 10, 20206 yr Confusingly, the NHS charity version is being credited as Vera Lynn & Katherine Jenkins on iTunes/Spotify/etc, but I believe the OCC are combining it with the Katherine Jenkins album version which they're crediting as Katherine Jenkins & Vera Lynn. So as Katherine is the lead artist the song isn't combined with Vera's original version.
