Yvie slayed the f*** out of India but both were fantastic. I still think India will be eliminated pretty soon. First episode win means shit all, just ask Tatianna. I warmed up to Mariah massively after Wait, What? and that performance took me all the way to the Mariah standom. Stood out for all the good reasons (hi Coco xox) <3 Love love love. I pretty much know the elimination order from reddit I read months ago when I was bored waiting and digging but I won't say anything 🙈was really looking forward to seeing this on Netflix tomorrow but I don't think I can wait a week so might have to do some digging for a decent link somewhere to watch You better not. I will make sure you are banned if you spoil anything in non-spoiler threads ooooops
June 6, 20205 yr Such a great episode!!!! I thought the bottom 2 and eliminated queen were right. I was hoping Mayhem was going to do a performance of "Drama" with her eyeography - I think she would've slayed that so hard and she might've gotten top placing for that. I was so dissapointed she didn't. India slayed so hard though. :o Alexis was another stand out and glad she's showing people how fierce she is. :wub: I was surprised at how good Jujubee's singing was! Miz Cracker's performance was so fun - I'm glad she seems to be letting go so far. Her cartwheel into a death drop was so good - I kept replaying it. :lol: Shea's performance was nice, but wasn't my favourite. Mariah's performance was so beauitful and unexpected! I feel she was just outside the top 3. Blair was a bit disappointing - I think she was the 4th worst. Ongina nooo! :snif: I hope she manages to bounce back and doesn't become a shock elimination. She's such a fierce queen and it'd be a shame if she went early. Also, YVIE!!!!!!! I loved the lip sync. India did well too but Yvie's wig change via a flip was so good. She did something similar vs Brooke on season 11. I'm really liking the new format. It should mean that at least one queen in the lip sync is slaying it. I need Jujubee to win a challenge and lip sync though - she'll most likely win against anyone as she's the ultimate lip syncer imo. Edited June 6, 20205 yr by Envoirment

LMAO! omg :wub: :wub: :wub: that sounds like a disaster lol this wasn't even a spoiler, i had no idea it was actually true!! kinda disappointed in jujubee for lipsynching and shea was... meh, so my favs not off to a good start. india and cracker killed it tho.

June 6, 20205 yr WHAT an episode. Some of the talent show was iffy but I absolutely LOVE the elimination format. Maximum drama, high pressure lipsyncs, money ROLLOVER? What if the money gets to like $50,000? MY GOD. I'm so here for all of it. It was so good to see some totally real drama in the workroom - Derrick was hilaaarious and she really WAS trying to rip India a new one. In the talent show I liked Shea, Mariah (yes baby welcome back!), Cracker, Alexis and Juju. Blair was worse than Adore was on her season but I think the fact she had more of a look helped. India tho?! YES. "Do the 'Get her off of me!'" - I meeeeean. Me entirely during Covid!

Yeah I kinda feel like this is all she can do and obv with the talent show if you've got a very good one-trick to your pony then you're set, whereas if you look at "we got a HELL NO STORM OKURRRRR" then you can see she's probably got no chance at acting or comedy or anything :lol: I guess she could have grown there too but I can't see it. This week was one hell of a show though from her!
June 6, 20205 yr A really good first episode, India has come a long way since season 3 & really defied all expectations (I had either her or Derrick out first). But her talent show performance was fantastic, so high energy & full deserved her win. The new twist is interesting & very interesting to see who the future lip-sync assassins will be, (Alyssa Edwards) will have to be one of them. Predict that Shea & Miz Cracker will be strong contenders for the final & both gave brilliant performances. Cracker dressed as a pickle GENIUS! Alexis kicking off the talent show was BAM!, as well as Jujubee & Blair who both have amazing vocals & gave brilliantly emotional performances. Mariah should have had a high placement for that stunning & original performance. Mayhem's performance started off interesting, but lost steam due to not understanding her poor diction. To be honest, given the strong competition I can't see her lasting that long, her season 10 run was patchy at best. Ongina really disappointed me, thought she'd be one of the front-runners, but firstly her read was a flop as was her talent show performance where she quickly lost confidence (and it showed). She already shows signs of struggling to keep up with the evolved format of the show since season 1. I hope she can turn things around, but given the strong contenders, it could may well be unlikely. Such as shame as fans have been waiting a long time for her to return. Derrick, in her confessionals she's saying she's more than just a Britney impersonator, but she comes in dressed like her. Her rivalry with India could have been interesting, but given she's the first one out, we're not gonna see anymore of that. Her talent show performance was really cringey & fully deserved to be out first. Ricky Martin made for a great guest judge & still HOT as ever :heart:. The lipsync was pretty epic, always nice to see Yvie Oddley again who embodied the idea of the song in a way that only Yvie could, earning Ms. Oddly a well-deserved win. While India did give a decent performance & once again impressed me with her versatility, energy and commitment.
June 7, 20205 yr I love how India proved everybody wrong (including myself). Wow, was expecting Jujubee and Shea to win from the word go but maybe not.
June 7, 20205 yr such a great first episode - i already feel like this is going to be such an exciting season. i was a little shocked at the india win, i didn't feel like she gave a performance that put her ahead of the likes of alexis or miz cracker tbh (oops) she definitely performed like she had something to prove + she gave it all but i wasn't wowed by her. i don't think she has much more to give. blair is really doing the most with this newfound confidence isn't she? :lol: she's good but she's not all that, i think she'll fall mid-way. i agree with liam - she really thought she did. that. but it was just an okay performance of a (terrible) song. watching untucked, you can see they edited derrick's performance to make it look like crickets were chirping + nothing landed. but even some of the queens were saying they enjoyed elements of it - not that it was great, there really isn't much to defend. i just feel sorry for her because they send her to the slaughter with every edit. i'm all about shea this season - i think out of all of them, she has the most star potential. she's a headliner.
June 7, 20205 yr I think on the talent show alone having given it a rewatch, I would rank it Jujubee - regardless if it was lipped or live autotune, a great song and a great vocal India - that was real desire and the art of giving everything, even though it wasn't an amazing song, it still ticked all boxes Alexis - she BAMS Cracker - legit probably my favourite thing she's done on the Drag Race stage, it was silly but fun Mariah - different and thought provoking, love that she went this route. Shea - sexy, sultry, imoressiv but less oomph than others Blair - it was fine, nice. Ongina - even when it was a success for what it was it was still basic, and the end seemed fumbled. Mayhem - if this was just the rap, bottom, but the start showed such potential. YES I would have watched her just opening her eyes for three minutes Derrick - I thought this was more successful til second watch, too rushed and the impressions while cute were just not that accurate.

June 7, 20205 yr It was an OK episode, not as good as the first eps of AS2, 3 and 4. Alot of meh performances for me, although India was fab, and I really loved Jujus performance and reading challenge. The lip sync was brilliant too.

June 8, 20205 yr I actually enjoyed this episode more than pretty much every episode of S12. I'm excited for the new twist and to see how the dynamic changes over the coming weeks. As for next week I'd say if Mayhem is in the bottom again then she'll be in trouble unless someone else completely bombs the challenge. My tops for the week were: India, Shea and Mariah. I wouldn't have changed the bottom 2 but I probably would have voted for Mayhem to go.
