June 10, 20205 yr Wow it wasn't really close at all. :o I was acc expecting it to be even less close! Bye Taylor :(
June 10, 20205 yr Happy to see Spice Girls and Madonna do so well- has Madge beaten her placement from last year now? I remember Kylie doing pretty well last year but don’t remember where she finished
June 10, 20205 yr This next round is going to be brutal! :o Delighted and a little bit surprised that Madge lives to fight another day.
June 10, 20205 yr I have really enjoyed some of the Taylor songs sent to this so sad to see her go, I might have to start delving into some of her other songs. I'd pretty much dismissed her based on only knowing her big hits which are all really annoying at best
June 10, 20205 yr Author I'm gutted that Taylor is gone and in a tiebreak as well aha </3 However though, my main goal for Taylor at the start of this was a top 10 finish so I am so glad she exceeded that and beat my highest expectations  It's been so fun choosing the songs for Tay and I always knew this round was gonna be the real struggle with Tay's collabs always doing horrendously in her rates and polls! I went with the divisive Bad Blood, I nearly chose the gorgeous and underrated Safe & Sound but I thought I might as well try and fight to stay in as S&S would've probs flopped unfortunately </3 I was really expecting Bad Blood to be rock bottom so the fact that she pushed it to a tiebreak I'm so glad! Especially when she looked completely gone in voting at one point during last round! I knew she was screwed the moment the tiebreak was just Taylor v Madonna but thanks y'all for all the support! It's been amazing getting this far and seeing some of y'all discover and love some Taylor gems like All Too Well and Out Of The Woods has been amazing  I guess it's quite a fitting exit when Taylor went out in AF Idol 1.0 in the tiebreak elimination poll and the song that just escaped that tiebreaker in the round Taylor went out in was 4 Minutes!! I will be going through what we would've sent for each round in the Taylor AF Idol forum thread so it'd be amazing to see some of y'all there and maybe even listen to the songs aha! for this round we would've sent her biggest hitter, Blank Space anyway bye from us and good luck to the rest of the forums this competition!
June 10, 20205 yr poor Taylor no surprises with Me against the Music, that's like the worst collaborations in the history of music :o couldn't they have picked Scream and Shout instead? not that 4 Minutes is much better... really think 4 Minutes is sadly Madonna at her worst, someone who was always making trends, sad to see her chasing trends instead and choosing to work with Timbaland ten years too late
June 10, 20205 yr Me against the Music, that's like the worst collaborations in the history of music :o
June 10, 20205 yr Although I'm glad Madonna got through as she is one of my favourite music acts of all time... I was low key hoping she would go just so she would go with two songs in one round, would be hilarious
June 10, 20205 yr poor Taylor no surprises with Me against the Music, that's like the worst collaborations in the history of music :o couldn't they have picked Scream and Shout instead?Scram & Shit has a reputation for actually being loathed. It wasn't even close to MATM, Make Me OR Slumber Party in Britney's singles rate earlier this year (despite being a #1!) Maybe we'll consider it next time, but I really can't see how it would've done much better tbh. But maybe a more divisive song might have pulled in a couple more votes - idk if I'd have voted for it tho
June 10, 20205 yr Yay Madonna! Funny that 4 Minutes got played today on Radio 1 today on Scott Mills' show in the 'Bangers' feature and this was picked over 'I Really Like You' by Carly Rae Jepsen. I thought of this tiebreak at the time
June 10, 20205 yr not that 4 Minutes is much better... really think 4 Minutes is sadly Madonna at her worst, someone who was always making trends, sad to see her chasing trends instead and choosing to work with Timbaland ten years too late Chasing trends perhaps, though I don't really know how she was 10 years too late for Timbaland when Give It To Me, The Way I Are, Ayo Technology, Apologize and Scream (ie. the majority of his biggest hits as a credited artist) all happened within the 12 months before 4 Minutes!
June 10, 20205 yr Chasing trends perhaps, though I don't really know how she was 10 years too late for Timbaland when Give It To Me, The Way I Are, Ayo Technology, Apologize and Scream (ie. the majority of his biggest hits as a credited artist) all happened within the 12 months before 4 Minutes! However, Timbaland was producing big hits much earlier than all that.
June 10, 20205 yr However, Timbaland was producing big hits much earlier than all that. I know, which is why I specified "as a credited artist"!
June 10, 20205 yr I know, which is why I specified "as a credited artist"! But that doesn’t make much of a difference to the point.
