In that case it could even be that their own chart is wrong, or calculated in a different way to Spotify's, but that they're supplying correct data to the OCC.

At the same time I wouldn't be surprised if it was falsified but then again I do think somebody at OCC (especially after the Ellie No.1 which seemed comical at the time) would have questioned the data with Amazon by now - they must know where it's come from and how it's compiled by Amazon.

There must be some Amazon streams at free ratios. In last year's chart show thread the breakdown of River's sales total of 78,193 included 77,795 audio streaming units, and this was from 7,629k paid ("premium") streams plus 902k free ("ad-funded") streams.

The only possible explanation I can see for the Little Mix above Bieber on Amazon thing is that Little Mix's could be coming from a significant proportion of free as well as paid, whereas Bieber's could be coming almost entirely from paid. If Amazon are trying to get a high chart placement out of their exclusives, it makes sense they would focus on pushing those tracks to customers whose streams are going to count 6x more.

Doesn't quite explain how Sweet Melody being #1 on Amazon didn't really affect its position on the charts yet Jess Glynne being #7 on Amazon (alone) is almost fighting for a #1? Same for Justin.

Has anyone got a list of the current Amazon chart? If all the songs above Jess are on ACR then it's the equivalent of being #1 isn't it? What number is Justin?

And you have to be careful comparing different weeks, particularly early on, with data missing. And if numbers are up significantly, then Jess might have done more streams to get to #7 on Amazon this week than Little Mix did when they got to #1. We don't have all the pieces of the puzzle.

Surely the ad-funded streams were from the YouTube video?

Surely the ad-funded streams were from the YouTube video?

Video streams were shown separately (133k) and counted to 245 units. The remaining 153 units were from downloads.

OK. Do we know if lyric videos and static videos count towards that? Just thinking the chart rules contradict your theory on there being free Amazon streams. Confusing!

Or perhaps.. when a YouTuber used her song on an unofficial video and YouTube picks it up.. perhaps they differentiate between official video streams and when a song is used in the background of a user video?

Wow at those sales for Yungblud. :o

All those Christmas songs and 'Blinding Lights' is still Top 40 ha (yes I know there was a remix released).

More top 100 info on the OCC site from 5:45 so please hold fire on requests!

The Kid LAROI at #42 on the singles, coming for the top 40 :cheer:

Surely that's confirmation that Mariah has it in the bag this week!

I'm proper shocked at those sales for YUNGBLUD, I didn't think he was anywhere near that big :o and I'm even more shocked at those awful sales for Shawn, even without a big hit single I thought he had a few more core fans than that :o

Where are all those Yungblud sales coming from? The album’s not top 100 Amazon, low on iTunes and doesn’t seem to be anywhere on streaming. Is it all from bundles?

This is a bit clutching at straws though... the simpler explanation is they’re just making them up

It's been #5-10ish on Apple Music over the last few days, not sure what sort of sales that means though.

I was expecting comments on Shawn's sales but he's never been one for big first week sales and the reception to the singles has been much milder than previous albums.

'Illuminate' debuted with 15,554 in 2016 and his self-titled album debuted with 23,419 in 2018.
