Pogues next year?

That would be awesome - would need a pretty well oiled campaign to get them past the streaming giants though.

Brilliant for Wham! though. I was born in 1984 so this feels like a pretty big moment.

The first year I followed the charts was 1994 so Mariah getting it also felt like a big moment.

Shows how timing really effects the charts - Had Friday fallen on the 26th there would most definitely be a very different outcome.
The top 40 next week will look even more weird than this one! Little Mix to be number 1?

Wonderwall currently, though Mr Brightside could already have overtaken that! Moves Like Jagger's not even close interestingly!

I bet it is when it comes to actual sales.

Now it needs to be ‘I Believe In You’ by Kylie to keep the run going of Xmas #2s in years ending with 4!
Yes! After the horrible year everyone's had, Wham! and Mariah both getting their well deserved #1 peaks within weeks is at least something positive to remember 2020 for!
This Christmas season gave us two historic moments with Mariah and Wham both going #1!

Mariah and Wham have both got to number one-great!

Now let’s change the chart rules to stop this Christmas song takeover happening every year

Mariah: reached #1 for the first time in 2020 with AIWFCIY

Wham: reached #1 for the first time in 2021 with Last Christmas

The: Pogues

Is it not Mr Acker Bilk then? :-)

Could Don't Start Now challenge Moves Like Jagger for this record?
