👊 BUZZJACK 15TH ANNIVERSARY KO 🥊

We are back from the two-week rest I had given the contest for the second half of the grand knockout, starting with 2014. Hopefully a long enough gap to make this somewhat fresh again.

For any newcomers here is how this works. In theory, the year-end top 64 for each year will partake. However to avoid repeats the song will only be put in the first year it made the top 64, and the few positions below 64 are added to make up the difference. Any songs that made the top 64 of 2005 will likewise not be put in the 2006 round and not be a part of the game. The titles will be seeded by pitting the year-end #1 with the #64, and so on as would often happen in actual sport. Of course, year-end positions often don't correlate to BuzzJack tastes so we could very well see some tough match-ups even in the opening stage of the competition. In each round half of the competing songs will be kicked out until there is one standing. The top 4 of each year will go to the Grand Finale to determine the ultimate champion of the BuzzJack Boxing Ring.

A new round will open every few days so make sure to get your votes in quickly.

I didn't expect that Band Aid 30 would be sharing the least-votes with David Guetta, didn't realise LOTS was that unpopular although it was up against Rather Be. Yikes at one of that and Uptown Funk having to leave in this round too when both were the most popular songs of Round 1. If the latter hadn't been released early it'd surely have had an easier time in 2015. I'd have liked to see it go far but Rather Be definitely needs to win out of the two.

Also very pleased to see Faul & Wad Ad very convincingly beating John Legend here, I guess I should never have doubted them. Hopefully they can beat Calvin Harris this round, I don't think he'd be too big of a competition as Blame certainly isn't one of his absolute strongest. Mr Probz having a big lead over Ed Sheeran is great to see as well, hopefully he can reach the next round but I fear Chandelier may be too strong.

The biggest surprise may be just how convincingly Tove Lo beat Katy Perry though, well deserved however. And if only I'd voted Hey Brother in place of Gecko, it'd have been a tiebreak and both would've qualified - but then of course they'd be against each other again and much as I am an Avicii fan I do just about prefer Gecko in this case. Thankfully it's only up against Idina Menzel so shouldn't have too much trouble making Round 3 (I'll cancel the whole thing if it doesn't :)).
