March 8, 20223 yr Absolute mess that everyone has guessed this Eurovision entry ahead of time. BBC should have just officially revealed it by now tbh.
March 8, 20223 yr Not related to this year but I've just noticed that Freaks by Jordan Clarke, from You Decide 2019, has 62 million plays on Spotify. Whaaat? That was my favourite that year, we definitely should have sent it over Bigger Than Us. I'm not sure how it went viral exactly but I'm sure we could have picked up a few points if it's proven that popular on streaming. the UK taking the L in eurovision again we love to see it  missing their chance at a flop-entry-turned-viral-smash a la Rockefeller Street
March 8, 20223 yr Never mind Sam it says on the Ken Bruce show tomorrow Ed Sheeran has a special surprise well that’s our entry then
March 9, 20223 yr Never mind Sam it says on the Ken Bruce show tomorrow Ed Sheeran has a special surprise well that’s our entry then  If it is I’m going to bbc studios and setting myself on fire in their lobby in protest. At least that way I won’t have to hear the f***ing monstrosity
March 9, 20223 yr It’s definitely Sam I reckon as he’s put up a story on Instagram of the Italian flag.
March 10, 20223 yr Author I've held off on commenting until it's official but this is not a bad choice. I still resent it being radio pop but it feels like it can compete with any of the best at this year's contest so there's that. Not going to say how it'll do because it'll depend on the staging and a host of other factors but I enjoy it in a way I haven't really enjoyed a UK entry since "Still In Love With You". So that's nice, I can semi-root for my country this year.
March 10, 20223 yr Not difficult but this easily sounds like the best thing we've sent in forever
March 10, 20223 yr Now its official I can give my full thoughts on this one - best UK entry since 2011 (yes that's damning with faint praise slightly but still) and I've got no doubts this is going to much better [/bagachipz] than the last few years. People are comparing the probable result with maybe a Lucie Jones style result but the difference is Lucie was selling the shet out of what was best an okay song whilst Sam is both a strong vocalist and has a strong song behind him. And comparing this male ballad with the likes of Switzerland, Germany, Poland and Australia I think this compares pretty well. So colour me cautiously optimistic!
March 10, 20223 yr This is very cheesy and arguably dated too. A great live could elevate the song, otherwise I fear for another double 0 pointer here, maybe the juries can give some points for them.
March 10, 20223 yr "Uk BeSt EnTrY sInCe *insert a time before 2014*" I am NOT having y'all shade tf outta Molly (especially when it seemed to be really well liked on here!?)!!! Have some respect plz. This is decent. Hopefully his Tik Tok popularity swings it more to our favour.
March 10, 20223 yr Molly's song was pretty bad  I loved Still In Love With You, which is better than this one. Agreed that it is an absolute MESS that the BBC tried to keep this secret for ages, and we all worked out what it was  I have no idea what will happen. Could be nil point, or could be top 15. It's quite middling, but he is a good vocalist and the song isn't bad ... but that was thr same as the happy pop song from last year. It has to stand out ro get in people's rop 10 votes.
March 10, 20223 yr It’s the best since Molly for me, which remains cruelly misrepresented because it did so poorly. As others have said it’s a good song and he’s a fantastic vocalist and seems to have a following already (for whatever that is worth). Even if it doesn’t smash, it’s an entry that doesn’t feel lazy, or embarrassing. (Also I am sehhhhr jealous of his hair)
March 10, 20223 yr Also Still In Love With You love??? Is this the twilight zone? It would have sounded amateurish and tacky on X Factor big band week!! Plus they had all the chemistry of a baked potato and arsenic.
March 10, 20223 yr I really like it and they could make staging pretty special too. On the plus side he’s really well known on social media and seems really excited to be representing the UK, he has a major record label behind him and is ‘cool’ enough to get excellent promo - he’s done Radio 1 and 2 and is on The One Show tonight.
