This week, we have the branding challenge as the queens must create and advertise a smart assistant for the home.

I think Vanity is probably on thin ice no matter how she does! Not sure I see Krystal killing this either but her track record should see her safe.

 

Choriza should kill this and Kitty too.

Please let this be Kitty's winning week, it needs to happen, I can't deal with her sharing Cheryl's trajectory :lol:

I'm so annoyed there's no winner this week as River Medway was so good. Did well in the challenge and STUNNING on the runway. :snif:

 

I'm glad Charity has gone. Whilst I think the judges were biased against her/her drag, I was getting a bit fed up with her.

 

Kitty looked stunning on the runway, best she's looked so far!

 

Sad to see Scarlett so in her head. She did well in the lip sync. Hopefully she manages to get back on track although two weeks in the bottom isn't good!

 

Vanity's bit in the commercial was the funniest part to me when she got hit in the face with powder. I wasn't expecting it and made me laugh. :lol:

 

I really hope next week's snatch game is a massive step up!

I don’t know where to even begin with this awful episode

Well that went downhill quickly after last week's episode

Absolute bullshit. No surprise that Charity is, if rumours are to be believed, pissed off behind the scenes, and Veronica too.

 

Last week's double shantay pair being the bottom 2 again?! Scarlett being the team captain AGAIN and f*cking up AGAIN?

 

I saw a video earlier today that suggested after Victoria leaving the show would just lean into drama and SHOCKING MOMENTS for the rest of the season, so I expect every conceivable twist from here on in. What a shitshow.

I'm just... really not feeling this season. The cast, the challenges, the judging, pretty much everything feels off. The queens I actually like are being pushed aside, and the queens I am not so keen on are being received far more favourably. I just can't take to Kitty or Ella, Krystal is... Krystal, Vanity just has NOTHING there, Scarlett I don't mind. Choriza and River are carrying the season for me, but they aren't getting the airtime or push that I want them to have. This is perhaps controversial but other than AS5, I've not enjoyed a season this little in quite a while :( There's just a lot not clicking for me, season 2 was so good and maybe this is too soon after that with a far weaker cast, challenges I've not really enjoyed (even the usually brilliant girl group challenge) and insane judging.

 

Just focusing on this episode, the no winner thing isn't something I'm that mad at because I do feel like these queens need to step it up, but what I am mad at is that Michelle and Ru had the chance to coach them or refine what was presented. Why was Michelle sat there "directing" when all she did was tell them they were shit but just let them carry on anyway. If they were really that bad, and it was (although worse challenges have got away with more than this one) pretty bad, why didn't she refine the adverts and help them not be so bad? I do think some of the queens (River, Ella, Vanity and I suppose Kitty at a push) did ok and at least gave it a go, it was just that the products as teams weren't cohesive, funny or anything. I also think it's unfair to say that nothing was original, I mean you do 83 seasons a year with roughly the same challenges across each one, how exactly can they be original now? :lol:

 

Also I'm mad at Charity's trajectory, what a waste of such talent. I do agree tonight she deserved bottom 2 along with Scarlett, but it's sad that all season long they have just torn her down while others get off scot-free. Ru and Michelle have a certain box they want drag to fit into and Charity doesn't fit that, so she gets paid dust despite having consistently creative runways. I understand she hasn't killed every challenge or anything, but she has given fitting her drag into Drag Race a go, for example in the Dragoton challenge she did a diferent type of character and she served glamour on that week's runway. I wish they focused on her performances in the challenges, which today deserve bottom 2, and not just tear her down because her drag isn't what they wanted. Why cast her, knowing her style is like that, if you weren't going to accept her style of drag on the show?

 

Had they judged normally, I dare say this would be River's second win for me? She did ok in the challenge and had easily the best runway along with Ella for me. But I don't think any of them did well enough to win in the challenge, so I do kind of get it. I think the bottom 2 was correct anyway, this lipsync I felt was more deserving of a double shantay than last week's honestly, but last week I think they just wanted to get rid of Charity but couldn't because she killed the lipsync.

I am also not enjoying the once-per-episode it seems mandated trauma porn werkroom moments.

 

It felt like someone off-camera was prompting all of Scarlett's story this episode. "I didnt get on with my mum" "and then, Scarlett?" "oh, and I bet she had it hard! Um, and, I guess I was a bad kid. And, um, I guess she accepts me that I'm gay and now we are friends. And, um, now she has a condition!" like that is not really how you do natural storytelling.

I have said it before, but after this episode I am pretty much done with Ru and Michelle.

The challenge wasn't very good, at the same time I feel we have seen FAR worse. And what do you expect when you film a whole season in 15 days? Of course everything is going to feel rushed which will effect the end result of the challenges. It's their fault and not the queens. And don't get me started on the "it wasn't really original", duh, of course it was not original if you give the same challenge season after season after season.

 

The most frustrating thing, however, has to be the Charity's treatment. They clearly didn't like her drag, so why cast her in the first place? Her runway look was amazing, once again, and besides River probably the strongest. Why does she has to do "pretty make-up"? It's not her style or drag and they know that. Krystal has been doing the same make-up since week one but they have never told her off for doing the same....

This has got to be one of the worst seasons ever, what a shitshow :lol:

 

It's sad because the potential is there but they're just not doing anything with it at all. Maybe they should have been split into smaller groups so there was more chance of one actually being funny? I don't usually like the commercial challenge anyway but that was dire. My gripe is, why didn't they give Choriza's group the idea to use just her voice while they were in the workroom or filming with Michelle?? Why wait until they're critiquing the final thing? They're usually not slow to guide queen's they want to have in the top anyway (look at Kylie in the all stars acting challenge for example). It just feels like they've decided who they want to win and it doesn't matter how utterly shite and unlikable they are. All too often it feels like the seasons are too geared towards what Ru wants and not the actual talent we're seeing is.

 

I would love to see the series take a live public voting format each week like our usual talent shows :lol: dial 01 if you want to save Choriza May, 02 for River Medway, dial absolutely no number whatsoever for Krystal Versace as she can go home xxx

Well… where to start. What a weird episode. I don’t get why there was no winner I mean yes no one was amazing however they weren’t all abysmal either. Feel like it was purely done to create a moment. Anyways I preferred Scarletts team overall (even though she was the worst in that team) I thought the other 3 Ella, Kitty and Choriza were funny, yes it wasn’t a good concept but I still laughed a bit. The other team definitely had more of a concept but it fell flat for me, although I think Vanity was really funny.

 

I do agree with the bottom 2. But vanity bottom 3? I don’t think she smashed this week in my opinion challenge and runway !

 

Was obvious Charity was going to go, they have slept on her for weeks. Scarlett definitely should have gone her attitude sucked this week!

Even before Victoria leaving, this is what it feels like is happening, each week seems to have something that usually would be rare or a first (top 2 lipsync for the win in a normal series, a double shantay, no challenge winner), often when these things really don't need to happen or aren't justified, to the point that all these "shocks" are not shocks because you are there each week wondering what's next.

I quite liked the first ad I thought it was amusing but the second one was terrible. I agree River was the winner this week if there had been one, felt a bit sorry for her!

Just watching an Insta live between River and Choriza - apparently the runaway wasn't originally meant to be their most expensive drag - must've been changed last minute as they were told something different originally

 

Seems like the more this season goes on more and more stuff is coming out of the woodwork about things being changed, or them being given no time whatsoever to do any of the challenges. Also I've seen a few comments from the Queens themselves about how off the judging has been for this series.
