Maybe should open an Ed Sheeran thread on here to discuss it instead as none of this is relevant to Friday Chart Predictions lol

I want Ed Sheeran artist forum with Bjork as a moderator

Don't see the problem, it's natural discussion will drift from time to time. It's not like it's a full discography rate going on. There's little engagement when it's just "oh wow close #1 battle" or "hope X makes the top 10". Or shall we rehash all the "dirty tactics" which dominated the thread a few weeks back :P

Yeah, exactly. I don't get these constant attempts to curtail discussion, especially on a big week like this.

All the relevant info regarding mids is right there on the first page if people want it?

which is more than I can say for ÷ (which literally only had 'Castle on the Hill' going for it)

I agree with this. I've heard all of Ed's albums but I'd class myself as a casual fan. I'm not obsessed with him or his music but this is miles ahead of any of his albums for me.

Adele’s lead on Spotify has grown against shivers
Adele’s lead on Spotify has grown against shivers

Time for Adele’s team to hold back some CD Singles for distribution next week then!

Isn’t Adele doing some fake cassettes next week?

She was consistently ahead of Shivers before the album boost anyway so now she’s gaining ground again I can’t see EOM falling behind it regardless. She’s probably sitting pretty at #1 until another big new release comes along now.

Adele is #1 with 793 sales ahead of Sheeran.
Adele is #1 with 793 sales ahead of Sheeran.

And we think the missing streams will benefit her more so that's great!

Oo that's good! :cheer: I hope she sells huge amounts of CDs today. When the missing streaming data is added I assume Adele is more than 1k ahead? I really hope Adele manages to hold the #1 spot with a decent lead in tomorrow's chart.

I was never a big fan either just liked some of his songs, i've never bought an album by him his new one is the first one i've bought by him

People debating which Ed album is the best when they're all the same colour of inoffensive, GP-pandering beige. I have to laugh.

100% THIS!!!

22,894 physicals sold for Overpass Graffiti :o

Christmas is coming... Michael Buble is #200 in the albums 🎅🏻

Mariah - All I Want for Christmas Is You isn't quite strong enough to re-enter yet... #100 is 3.2k, Mariah has done 2.6k (with ACR taken into account).

Mariah will be in next week then by the sounds of things. Impressive that it’s so close already tbf

That’s some fantastic physical sales considering their market share at this point. Ed has really shown this era how physical singles sales can still play a vital role in the charts when executed well. Hopefully this trend continues with other artists. Makes the charts more interesting than when you can tell who will be number one based on the Spotify chart alone.

+7.5k for Ed Sheeran on album chart - so maybe 140k tonight? Very very VERY interesting to see the 2nd week numbers.

I agree, I’m also really interested to see how Adele goes. It really is an interesting time to see how much sales have collapsed. Even for the ‘big hitters’.

His streaming numbers aren't great so I wouldn't think a lot...

I still think Ed will sell very consistently over the weeks. His opening album numbers are indeed a fair bit lower than I expected but I can see him not having a huge % drop next week.
