January 12, 20224 yr Yay almost certainly looks like Gayle is gonna grab the #1 this week :) ‘Make Me Feel Good’ has been climbing quite a bit day by day on Apple and Spotify, definitely showing early signs it’s gonna be a big hit.

January 12, 20224 yr Bruno gaining slightly on Easy On Me but probably not quickly enough to snatch #2 (and its weekend boost is baked in now so if anything it might drop back). Ouch at Bowie down to #5 already. Would love ABBA to overtake and make it 10 weeks Top 5 but don’t think they will.
January 12, 20224 yr They’ve dropped the price to £3.99 on iTunes but can’t see that having much impact :cry: Alas it's the first album they're self-releasing :/ With 'POWER', they signed a 2-album deal with Virgin Records, but the label didn't like their new one - so they decided to leave and release it themselves. But unfortunately that means it hasn't had much promotion, last time they still got some Radio 1 playlisting.

What is it with these random dance acts with absolutely no footprint getting top 40 hits out of nowhere with songs that have generally been around for a good while anyway? Happened a few times last year?

Happened a few times last year? Most of them are DJs who have been picked up by major labels, Belters Only’s track is released by Universal. So I suppose it gets them good playlisting. Bissett is a member of Belters Only, and he’s been fairly successful in his own right too.
