Born Onika Tanya Maraj in Trinidad and Tobago in 1982 but raised mostly in Queens, Minaj attended Manhattan’s prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (the inspiration for the movie Fame) before trying to make it as an actor— a past evidenced by the deep performative streak that runs through her music today. Turning to rap in her twenties, Minaj quickly became one of the brightest stars in Lil’ Wayne’s Young Money universe. Her work—shapeshifting, ferocious, cartoonish, and often filled with oddball voices and alter egos—is as capable of breaking hearts (“Super Bass”) as it is detaching heads (her breakout verse on Kanye West’s 2010 “Monster,” in which she arguably outshined both West and fellow guest Jay-Z). Minaj’s electrifying presence has also made her a secret weapon in the pop world, where she's just as likely to share credits with David Guetta and Justin Bieber as Ludacris and Future. On top of her own success, Minaj helped rap—and rap audiences—look past narratives of gritty realism for something fluid and playful, but no less genuine or powerful. Railing against the double standard faced by women in entertainment, the outspoken Minaj once told MTV, “You have to be a beast. That’s the only way they respect you.” - Apple Music Lil Baby The story goes that Lil Baby (born Dominique Jones in 1994) didn’t even really want to rap. He’d had encouragement—Pee and Coach K, the Atlanta kingmakers/Quality Control heads who helped launch Migos, had been on him since he was a teenager hustling dice in the street—but Baby wasn’t interested. But two years on a possession charge gave him more time to think than he wanted. Then the work came fast: Within a year of starting to rap, he’d released six mixtapes and a full-length album, 2018’s Harder Than Ever. (Young Thug, an early booster, paid him to spend time in the studio instead of the streets.) Compared to his Atlanta peers (Thug, Gunna, Migos, etc.), Baby’s persona was muted: He shrugged off fashion shows, didn’t have tattoos (he didn’t want potential business partners from the buttoned-up, white world thinking he was something he wasn’t), and kept his boasts mild: “I never call myself a G.O.A.T./I leave that love to the people,” he raps on “Emotionally Scarred.” But the lyricism was there, as were the low-key intensity and no-frills ethic that have become his hallmark. By the end of 2020, he’d been nominated for a Grammy, made the chart-topping album My Turn, and was named Artist of the Year at the Apple Music Awards. “I don’t wanna be comin’ from where I come from all the way right here to be a nothin’,” he told Apple Music around the release of My Turn. “I feel like I’m past that stage.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Nicki Minaj 2010 71 Your Love -1- 2010 100 What's Wrong With Them (Lil Wayne feat. Born George Ezra Barnett in Hertfordshire, England in 1993, the singer/songwriter grew up seeking comfort in the wordplay of folk laureates like Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie and the raw, emotional resonance of blues masters like Lead Belly. He trained his voice to sound as bold and booming as the latter, and honed his writing chops while travelling—an activity he’d been fascinated with since falling in love with Paddington Bear as a kid. The fictional teddy would come to inspire Ezra’s 2014 debut album, Wanted on Voyage, a phrase found on Paddington’s suitcase. Singles “Budapest” and “Barcelona” burst with buoyant acoustic hooks while evoking the modest sensibility of Ed Sheeran. They also represent a clear sense of place, and Ezra’s eternal wanderlust, something he slips into each of his effervescent works—whether that’s finding “Paradise” in love or riding “Shotgun” to anywhere. That exuberant joie de vivre feels ever more evocative under the influence of his robust baritone, a soothing sonorousness that goes down like a finely aged wine. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2013 03 Budapest -1/3- MILLIONAIRE 2014 95 Leaving It Up To You -IG- 2014 06 Blame It On Me -4- MILLIONAIRE 2014 41 Listen To The Man -5- 2015 70 Cassy O' -2/6- 2017 66 Don't Matter Now -1- 2018 02 Paradise -2- MILLIONAIRE 2018 08 Hold My Girl -4- 2018 01 Shotgun -3- MILLIONAIRE 2018 25 Pretty Shining People -5- 2021 08 Come On Home For Christmas -NAS- 2022 30 Anyone For You -1- 1 x #1 | 3 x Top 5 | 6 x Top 10 | 6 x Top 20 | 8 x Top 40 | 12 x Top 100 Social Media George Ezra http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

Even the singer’s sunniest tracks (“Can’t Feel My Face,” “Starboy”) feel anchored by darkness—the sense that pleasure is pain and beauty decays and you can’t have the night without the morning after. The brainchild of Toronto singer Abel Tesfaye, the project took off in 2011 with a string of mixtapes (later collected as 2012’s Trilogy) that forged cavernous, falsetto-driven R&B with narratives drenched in drugs, sex, and other regrettable decisions—a sound both sensuous and detached, featherlight and dead heavy. One of the earliest musicians to find his footing on the internet, Tesfaye originally offered his music through YouTube and free downloads, a move that felt radical then but is common now. Ethiopian by heritage (his parents immigrated to Canada in the late ’80s, just before he was born), Tesfaye—out from behind the mask of making art online—has since come to represent the changing face of Toronto, rooting himself not just in an international musical community but in a specific diasporic experience. Like the work of collaborator Lana Del Rey or early booster (and fellow Toronto native) Drake, Tesfaye’s music has become a symbol of hedonism pushed to bleak excess, with a series of albums—including 2015’s Grammy-winning Beauty Behind the Madness, 2016’s multiplatinum Starboy, and 2020’s dense and atmospheric After Hours—whose narrators can’t seem to say no even if they hate themselves for it later. And though his music has gotten a little brighter over time, the prevailing mood remains heavy, even unsettling—the ride you want more of even when you’ve had too much. Speaking to Apple Music about the persona behind his songs, Tesfaye said, “I’m a chill person. That guy is who I am, but it is who I am to myself and in my writing. Sometimes you take him and then you create more, and then it becomes this beast. You add more to him, and then it’s uncontrollable—its own character. It’s like Scarface, the villain: It’s horrible, but you can’t stop looking at it.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2012 37 Crew Love (Drake feat. Sergio Kitchens (born 1993), used to practice what he and his friends called “six-month runs”: cut all extraneous spending for six months and save, save, save. The discipline and deferred gratification served him well: After spending his late teens and early twenties quietly exploring his style and releasing only one mixtape, Gunna broke big in 2016 with a feature on Young Thug’s “Floyd Mayweather”—a cosign that helped him bypass the hustle and made him one of the most sought-after new voices in the game. Later that year, Thug’s YSL label released the first of his multi-part Drip Season series, which synthesized his influences into an airy trap sound: smooth and mellow, blending spacious beats with a relaxed, highly melodic delivery and off-the-cuff humor. Between a couple more seasons of Drip and features with Travis Scott (“Yosemite”) and Metro Boomin (“Space Cadet”), Gunna also forged a productive collaboration with Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, releasing Drip Harder in late 2018. The pairing was anointed GOAT status from a sometime GOAT himself, Future, with whom Gunna also featured on “Unicorn Purp.” Like Thug, Gunna has a thing for fashion; “drip” is his slang for personal style. “The salesmen that know me in Barneys say I smell like Biscotti mixed with Creed,” he raps on “Idk Why,” from his official 2019 debut album, Drip or Drown 2. - Apple Music Future There’s a good anecdote that Future recounted in an interview—about getting into an argument with a guy who was worried about one of the Atlanta rapper’s engineers. The engineer hadn’t left the studio in a week. Had he even eaten? Don’t worry, Future said—he himself hadn’t left in a week, either, and someone was bringing in Wendy’s from up the block. Barely a season goes by without new music from the rapper born Nayvadius Wilburn (in 1983)—whether it’s a mixtape, solo album, or collaborative project (with Drake, with Gucci Mane, with the producer Zaytoven). But prolific isn’t the half of it. Druggy, raw, slick, and surreal, Future’s sound—crystallized on highlights like 2014’s Honest, 2015’s DS2, and 2017’s HNDRXX—has helped redefine 2010s street rap as something strange and almost avant-garde: trap as modern psychedelia. Not that it isn’t melodic too. Like fellow Atlantan and collaborator Young Thug, Future has a way of bending his voice (often using Auto-Tune) into soulful, often sad shapes, half-rapped and half-sung—the sound of a crooner stuck in space. “The biggest thing is just being yourself all the time,” he told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe in early 2017. “When you try and be yourself all the time, everyone’s not gonna like it. But you gotta wake up with that person. At the end of the day, you can be able to look at the person and be like, You know what, I know I’m being myself; I’m not being anyone else. And that’s the greatest thing about this: It’s me being myself.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Gunna 2018 28 Drip Too Hard (Lil Baby & Gunna) -1- 2018 46 Never Recover (Lil Baby, Gunna & Drake) -AT- 2018 38 Broken Homes (The Plug presents Nafe Smallz, M Huncho & Gunna) 2019 52 Hot (Young Thug feat. On their 2014 debut, Zaba, the Oxford quartet aligned themselves with a storied lineage of abstract alt-rock—the moody atmospheres of Radiohead, the tropical textures of Animal Collective—but in Dave Bayley, Glass Animals possess an uncommonly smooth singer who could mould those left-field influences into sultry, R&B-flavoured pop songs. While the album made them indie darlings, it also earned the group admirers beyond the typical NME reader—the 2015 single “Lose Control” saw them team up with Brooklyn MC Joey Bada$$ for a trippy rap track. That sense of anything-goes openness fully flourished on 2016’s How to Be a Human Being, whose procession of freaky, funky anthems and synth-smeared slow jams earned Glass Animals their first Mercury Prize nomination. But after drummer Joe Seaward was nearly killed in a 2018 cycling accident, Glass Animals dialled down the eccentricity for 2020’s Dreamland, a more intimate record that further harmonized the art-rock/club-pop dialectic at the heart of their music. Speaking about the single “Your Love (Déjà Vu)” to Apple Music, Hayley said, “The idea was to take my favourite '90s producers like Timbaland and The Neptunes and the way they used samples, yet record a lot of those sounds in the way The Beatles or Beach Boys might’ve done it... and then taking Beatles and Beach Boys sounds and resampling them as [those producers] might’ve done.” That Dreamland cracked the Top 10 in both the UK and US is a testament to Glass Animals’ gift for melding different styles and eras into the sound of now. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2020 05 Heat Waves -1- MILLIONAIRE 0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 1 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 100 Social Media Glass Animals http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

Across two hugely successful albums to date, the singer, actor, and cultural vanguard has earned 5 Brit Award nominations, sold-out numerous global tours, and played triumphant homecoming shows at London’s O2 and Wembley Arena. Along the way, Olly has also become a fearless, once-in-a-generation voice on important discussions around mental health, and issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community. This has been marked by a number of standout moments, ranging from Alexander's defiant speeches at Glastonbury in 2016 in the wake of events in Orlando to his BBC Documentary ‘Olly Alexander: Growing Up Gay’, plus the dizzyingly creative world around 'Palo Santo' (a record that arrived with an ambitious short film starring Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw). In 2021 Olly led the cast of critically acclaimed and huge hit drama ‘It’s A Sin’ (Channel 4/HBO Max). The show broke records on All 4 since its premiere, with over 18 million views to date (the platform’s biggest ever instant box-set) and received an incredible reception from fans and critics alike. Following the show’s broadcast, the Terrence Higgins Trust reported a four-fold increase in HIV Testing Week stats from previous years. Years & Years push boundaries by challenging notions of identity and sexuality in a way that is new to pop music - and totally Olly Alexander’s own. - Spotify Galantis What happens when two producers who live and breathe pop and dance music set aside the digital bells and MIDI whistles and sit down at the piano first? That’s what Christian Karlsson, aka Bloodshy, and Linus Eklöw, aka Style of Eye, ask themselves every time they hit the studio as Galantis. Since 2013, the Swedish duo has crafted some of the most unforgettable songs in dance pop, and they’ve done it by turning the usual equation—make a beat, then graft a melody on top—on its head. It’s a holistic approach that makes their hooks stand out—and their drops are nothing to sneeze at, either. The two met when Karlsson’s trio Miike Snow hired Eklöw to remix the group’s 2009 hit “Animal,” and the producers found common ground in arcane synths and the nuances of songwriting. Both brought serious clout to the table. Karlsson, born in rural Loftahammar in 1975, had penned plenty of pop hits—including Britney Spears’ 2003 smash “Toxic”—in the duo Bloodshy & Avant; Stockholm native Eklöw, born in 1979, had cut his teeth making frisky house and techno as Style of Eye, and in 2012 he had co-written and co-produced Icona Pop’s “I Love It.” Galantis’ debut album, 2015’s Pharmacy, proved a perfect merger of their skill sets, pairing the filter-swept rush of mainstage EDM with canny chord changes and sly melodic twists. That versatility has become Galantis’ calling card. In the mid-2010s, as big-room house ruled the festival landscape, they cleverly used EDM’s techniques as a Trojan horse to seduce unsuspecting ravers with joyous, carefree pop songs like “Runaway (U & I)” and “Peanut Butter Jelly.” In the years since, even as dance trends have changed, Galantis hasn’t much altered their approach; they’ve branched into tropical rhythms and slinky R&B accents, and fleshed out their own emotive falsettos with guest spots from John Newman, OneRepublic, and even Dolly Parton. But the heart of Galantis remains the same: powerful grooves and uplifting choruses, as elemental as ebony and ivory. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Years & Years 2014 07 Sunlight (The Magician feat. Adjusted for inflation, you’re talking about something more like $25,000. But John had a show to put on, and wouldn’t that be something to talk about? The excess was always apparent: the rhinestones, the costumery, the old Hollywood glamour retrofitted for a new, gender-bending world. But beneath the feathers, John’s music—written with the lyricist Bernie Taupin—was direct and unpretentious, the kind of rock ’n’ roll storytelling that met you where you were. Even if you didn’t know exactly what it meant—who is the dancer, and why are they so tiny?—the feeling was immediate, universal. By 1973’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, John said they were writing a couple of songs at breakfast and recording them before lunch. This was pop music, John argued: You weren’t supposed to think about it too much, and god help you if you did. And yet here we are, singing the songs five decades later. Born Reginald Dwight in Pinner, England, in 1947, John took to the piano young, studying on a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music while obsessively listening to Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard. They were so physical, John marvelled—they didn’t just play the piano, they beat it. He started playing in pubs at 15 and, around 20, met Taupin through a want ad in a music magazine. There were good years and bad ones, highs and lows—that handful of Valium before jumping into the swimming pool in 1975, for example, or the disco album, which John himself described as jumping on a dying bandwagon—but he has always endured, emerging from the debauchery of the ’70s and redefinitions of the ’80s bruised but never beaten, a gay icon, AIDS activist, philanthropist, Knight Bachelor, and father of two. In 2018, nearly 50 years after his debut album, he embarked on a three-year farewell tour, and published his first autobiography, Me, in 2019. The host of Apple Music 1’s Rocket Hour, Elton has been the recipient of countless awards (Grammys, Oscars, BRITs, Tonys, Ivors), has been knighted by Queen Elizabeth II and, in 2020, was awarded the Companion of Honour. - Apple Music Dua Lipa There’s purpose in Dua Lipa’s euphoric pop. “For me, it’s about championing women and putting ourselves in the position of power,” the singer told Apple Music in 2020, ahead of the release of her second album, Future Nostalgia. “I have been inspired by the female alphas that have shown me that we can do it. And that we can wear the pants, you know? We need more of that in music.” Forcing the world to get a little more comfortable with female alphas has been a mission statement for Lipa (born in London to Kosovar Albanian parents in 1995) since her 2017 self-titled debut. It housed the triumphant breakup smash “New Rules”, the self-love anthem “IDGAF” and the assured “Hotter Than Hell”—songs which made it clear that this was no ingénue, but rather an outspoken, effortlessly cool face of pop’s future. Indeed, that status was cemented a year later when Lipa made history as the first female solo artist to receive five BRIT Award nominations. She won two and, in 2019, added two Grammys to her mantelpiece. Despite the success of her debut, Lipa wasn’t interested in recreating its hits. “People always say, ‘The second album is really scary,’ but for me, it’s more scary to go back into the studio and try to create something like ‘New Rules’ or ‘IDGAF’ over and over again,” she said. “I feel like I’d end up in a vicious cycle of trying to get somewhere but never being able to mature as an artist.” And so, to move forward, she pivoted to the past, drawing on disco and funk—and filtering it through her ahead-of-its-time pop—to arrive at Future Nostalgia. Decadent and every bit as empowering as those early hits, it brought Lipa her first Mercury Prize nod, multiple Grammy nominations and a rightful place in pop’s upper echelons. And with it, too, came Lipa’s new purpose. Released just as the world went into lockdown amid the coronavirus crisis, Future Nostalgia became an urgent tonic for tough times—danced to in living rooms across the world. Yet Lipa wasn’t done there: Five months later, she unveiled Club Future Nostalgia, a thrilling remixed version on which the singer teamed up with club queen The Blessed Madonna, and guests including Madonna, Missy Elliott, Gwen Stefani and Mark Ronson, to bring lockdown-fatigued listeners another dose of escapism. “I didn’t think I’d be putting albums out during a global pandemic,” added Lipa. “But it’s just about creating experiences for everyone at home. That’s the most important thing for me now.” All of this, of course, is only just the beginning. “I really feel like I’m finding my feet,” said Lipa. “I feel so proud of Future Nostalgia as a whole and the most confident and the most myself making it. But I’m already planning the next move.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Elton John 1971 04 Your Song -1- MILLIONAIRE 1972 02 Rocket Man -1- MILLIONAIRE 1972 31 Honky Cat -2- 1972 05 Crocodile Rock -1- 1973 04 Daniel -2- 1973 07 Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting -1*- 1973 06 Goodbye Yellow Brick Road -2*- 1973 08 Step Into Christmas -NAS- MILLIONAIRE 1974 11 Candle In The Wind -3*- 1974 16 Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me -1- 1974 15 The Bitch Is Back -2- 1974 10 Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds -NAS- 1975 12 Philadelphia Freedom (The Elton John Band) -NAS- 1975 22 Someone Saved My Life Tonight -1- 1975 14 Island Girl -1- 1976 07 Pinball Wizard -OST- 1976 01 Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Elton John & Kiki Dee) -NAS- MILLION SELLER 1976 37 Benny And The Jets -4*- 1976 11 Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word -1- 1977 27 Crazy Water -2- 1977 28 Bite Your Lip / Chicago (Elton John & Kiki Dee) -3- 1978 34 Ego -NAS- 1978 15 Part Time Love -1- 1978 04 Song For Guy -2- 1979 01 Are You Ready For Love -1- 1980 33 Little Jeannie -1- 1980 44 Sartorial Eloquence (Don't Ya Wanna Play This Game No More?) -2- 1981 40 I Saw Her Standing There (The Elton John Band & John Lennon) -NAS- 1981 42 Nobody Wins -1- 1982 08 Blue Eyes -1- 1982 51 Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny) -2- 1983 05 I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues -1- 1983 04 I'm Still Standing -2- MILLIONAIRE 1983 20 Kiss The Bride -3- 1983 33 Cold As Christmas (In The Middle Of The Year) -4- 1984 07 Sad Songs (Say So Much) -1- 1984 05 Passengers -2- 1984 50 Who Wears These Shoes? -3- 1985 59 Breaking Hearts (Ain't What It Used To Be) -4- 1985 32 Act Of War (Elton John & Millie Jackson) -NAS- 1985 03 Nikita -1- 1985 12 Wrap Her Up -2- 1986 47 Cry To Heaven -3- 1986 45 Heartache All Over The World -1- 1986 44 Slow Rivers (Elton John & Cliff Richard) -2- 1987 59 Flames Of Paradise (Jennifer Rush & Elton John) 1987 85 Your Song (Live) -1- 1988 05 Candle In The Wind (Live) -2- 1988 30 I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That -1- 1988 74 Town Of Plenty -2- 1988 91 A Word In Spanish -3- 1989 41 Through The Storm (Aretha Franklin & Elton John) 1989 45 Healing Hands -1- 1989 55 Sacrifice -2- 1990 01 Sacrifice / Healing Hands -3- 1990 47 Club At The End Of The Street / Whispers -4- 1990 33 You Gotta Love Someone -1- 1990 63 Easier To Walk Away -2- 1991 01 Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me (George Michael & Elton John) -1^- 1992 10 The One -1- 1992 31 Runaway Train (Elton John & Eric Clapton) -OST- 1992 21 The Last Song -2- 1993 44 Simple Life -3- 1993 02 True Love (Elton John & Kiki Dee) -2^- 1994 07 Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Elton John & RuPaul) -3^- 1994 24 Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing (Marcella Detroit & Elton John) -4^- 1994 14 Can You Feel The Love Tonight -OST- 1994 11 Circle Of Life -OST- 1995 15 Believe -1- 1995 18 Made In England -2- 1996 33 Please -3- 1997 01 Something About The Way You Look Tonight / Candle In The Wind '97 -1- MILLION SELLER 1998 16 Recover Your Soul -2- 1998 32 If The River Can Bend -3- 1999 10 Written In The Stars (Elton John & LeAnn Rimes) -1- 2001 09 I Want Love -1- 2002 24 This Train Don't Stop There Anymore -2- 2002 39 Original Sin -3- 2002 01 Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word (Blue feat.
