Foxes not even being top 200 is absolutely shocking, even without physicals! Makes me wonder if she'll even chart when the phsyical releases.

thats bizarre, she should be charting on downloads alone I guess

not sure if Ed/Taylor can get the #1 even with CD singles added, they were 10K behind on Mon, and probably much more today

maybe they just wanna secure being #2 but Bruno seems too far

Foxes' new singles haven't exactly made much noise (shame as 'Sister Ray' and 'Absolute' are both great pop songs) so I really don't think it's a shock that she wouldn't be charting without a physical release 6 years after her last album, which itself hardly set the chart alight.

The album didn't even go top 10 on iTunes it seems so presumably her fanbase are waiting for the physicals.

OH NO HE BETTER DON'T!!

didn't he sign 30,000 copies of a previous single cannot recall if it was Graffiti maybe?

Gutted Foxes can’t even scrape top 200 in this albums market, even with no physicals. Bar the songs being on Spotify’s new music Friday playlist, I haven’t seen any other kind of promo still. Such solid pop music going to waste. *pays the Tik Tok gods pick up a track or two*

Guessing the signed CDs will keep Ed/Taylor top 5 then. Expecting this to have a very short lived chart run after this week’s peak.

I have nothing against Ed signing copies of CDs to get a couple of places higher - no different to in-store record signings that were the norm before the pandemic (I appreciate it wouldn't have been 30,000 from one of those) - but if the CDs are only 99p, wouldn't they sell whether he signed them or not?

Surely most people who are buying them have bought a previously signed copy of something and therefore already have his signature.

They probably just like having a CD single.

Yes I don't think the signature really adds anything - surely the main draw is the physical single, especially for collectors / completists. Perhaps he should also sell some presentation box or something to put all these singles in...
My Ed CD has also just shipped!

Lucky!! I've tried to order and the first lot sold out and today just as i was filling in my details sold out again! Hope he does more, even if they're not signed, I only want the cd single tbh!

With postage it’s around £3, so that’s a little more for the CD I suppose.

Today’s top 5 update in the singles chart according to Music Week:

1 Encanto cast - We don’t talk about Bruno

2 Jessica Darrow - Surface Pressure

3 Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran - Peru

4 Lost Frequencies & Callum Scott - Where are you now

5 Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under

TJATQ out the top 5 already

And the Top 5 albums:

1) Frank Turner 16,824 (15,614 physicals)

2) Ed Sheeran 8,804

3) Alt-J 7,892

4) Slash/Miles Kennedy 6,878

5) Adele 6,586

TJATQ out the top 5 already

TG :w00t:

Looks like Frank Turner should get his highest opening sales at least since 'Tape Deck Heart' (21.9k first week in 2013) if not ever, good going!

alt-J probably coming to fall slightly short of 10k unless they have some late physical sales lumped on.

Does whichever version of TJATQ that gets streamed count towards the album?

I believe so, unless the OCC have quietly changed a rule. I think the calculation for album streams is just based on the total weekly streams for each of the songs on the album which includes any remixes being combined in with the album version whether or not they are tagged onto the album themselves. Hence the weird situation where the release of Lady Gaga's 'Dawn Of Chromatica' also resulted in the original 'Chromatica' re-entering.

(but in the case of live / remix albums they do base the numbers solely on the version on the actual album I think)
