Pleased to see 'SUPERMODEL' making gains again on Spotify, Apple and even Amazon *.* I wonder if it'll have any chance of scraping the top 40 over the next couple of weeks.

 

Edit: oh regarding Amazon it was their 'most played' playlist mentioned in this thread earlier rather than the proper chart I think, but still - generally seems to be on the climb

really hope so, its one of their best! and they deserve it!

All of Kendrick's tracks are climbing again today, actually quite big climbs for the lower down tracks ('We Cry Together' is the biggest climb of the day being up 52 places which was not what I was expecting to see when opening the Spotify Charts website :lol:) and 3 songs re-entering giving him 11 songs in the top 200 in total again. Wonder if there was any reason in particular more people were listening to the album again yesterday? Interestingly 'United In Grief' in particular seems to have had a disproportionately big climb (re-overtaking 'Rich Spirit' to be back to his 4th highest song and only 1 place behind 'Father Time' again). Fingers crossed this means 'Father Time' might still have a chance at going top 40 this week anyway.

Yeah that's a fair point. Some quick calculations:

 

In 2011, '21' sold 5.77 times more than the 10th best selling album that year.

In 2015, '25' sold 5.49 times more than the 10th best selling album that year.

In 2021, '30' sold 3.10 times more than the 10th best selling album that year.

 

So by that particular metric it's fair to say that '30' hasn't performed as well as her previous albums, although selling 3x more than the #10 album is still an achievement not to be sniffed at.

 

In fairness, 30, was released right at the end of the year so didn’t have as much time to accumulate sales

Yes from what I can tell, Amazon's "Top 50 Most Played" playlist uses a Monday to Sunday tracking week, so not the most useful for official chart prediction purposes. Unfortunately their daily chart has been excluding a number of songs for about a month now, the Måneskin song seemingly one of them. While that chart is still a guide to how the songs which aren't excluded are doing relative to each other (e.g. Space Man having a couple of days ahead of As It Was last week), it's clearly no longer the full picture it once was, so the 'most played' seems to be the best there is to account for that section of the streaming population at the moment.

 

I counted 21 songs from the 'most played' top 50 which no longer appear to be anywhere to be seen on the daily chart:

The other 29 songs, with one or two exceptions e.g. Where Are You Now being too low, look to be fairly consistent with what I saw of the daily chart over the week.

I wasn't talking about any perceived 'quality' :lol: more about longevity, so their albums did sell beyond week 1 but that was largely helped by the timespan of their post-album singles releases. Only their debut and greatest hits lasted more than 50 weeks on the album chart, for the rest the sales were still reasonably frontloaded.

 

Obviously it's far too early to make those comparisons with a few days of streams of Harry's album and the success of Fine Line is largely responsible for the strong start, but the initial signs are they are holding up.

 

Indeed most Westlife albums were released in the 2nd week of November and sold until 1st January the following year before dropping!

I'm a bit concerned about Ava Max not yet being added to HH :(

Going by previous Ava releases (which this seems to be using precisely the same strategy): its just been added to R2 - that will have no effect - and is being sorta pushed on Apple (is in their hot songs, and was pretty high last week)... So I wouldn't worry, we can expect the Spotify push in sometime in 2023... 😂

I hope so! I know all her previous hits have been slow burners, but this has been out for a month now and it's still practically getting the tumbleweed treatment from both Spotify and Radio 1. I'm just hoping for something any time now. :drama:

Harry still top 15 on Spotify and is within top 22 on apple. Holding really well.

Wow, Harry’s whole album still in the top 17 on Spotify on day 5, with his lowest track still doing 237k, very impressive.
I heard Scott play Ava's track a couple of weeks ago on his show but of course I'm not sure if that translates to them actually playlisting it. I'm surprised it's not picking up some more tbh.
I hope so! I know all her previous hits have been slow burners, but this has been out for a month now and it's still practically getting the tumbleweed treatment from both Spotify and Radio 1. I'm just hoping for something any time now. :drama:

The R1 push will come at the same point (I'm 99% sure).
