Really surprised his label and team are not gunning for the top spot to make it a real success story.

May 17, 20223 yr He’s the anti-Ed Sheeran - not bothered about getting a #1 ;) And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. It seems to be doing well without Sam pushing it outside of the expected hype. It has already outperformed expectations and Sam is probably just happy to be achieving success he probably didn’t anticipate. It’s also doing well on the strength of its quality rather than name power. It’s refreshing.

May 17, 20223 yr I'm glad he's done that, there's no shame in a bit of self promotion, especially when you're basically already a proven national hero and within touching distance of No.1. It would seem a waste not to help it along. If he doesn't get it then at least he knows he's done everything in his power. I honestly never expected this to be in the mix at all. The day I first heard Loreen's Euphoria in Melodifestivalen I was completely adamant that it would win that, win Eurovision and become a big UK hit - and all that happened - but when I first heard SPACE MAN, I could have never envisaged it coming 2nd in Eurovision and being in the mix for a UK No.1. Even after he'd come 2nd, before the first streaming figures came in, I thought a top 10 chart hit would be a great result. He's completely and utterly excelled every expectation for him in every way, I'm so happy for him. Also, a 78-1 climb to No.1, or even 78-2 must be one of the biggest for ages? May 17, 20223 yr The era of charting on import sales before UK release tends to muddy the question of biggest climb to #1. Doesn’t Marvin Gaye by Meghan Trainor/Charlie Puth hold the record in that respect with a 90-1 climb?
May 17, 20223 yr I wonder if cd singles have been accounted for in the latest update for sam or not. I ordered mine but still no info on when its being dispatched. I assume I'll have it by friday but maybe if they haven't been sent out yet they haven't been accounted for in the charts and could give him the push to #1?!

May 17, 20223 yr Decided to download 'SPACE MAN' - I ran into an issue with downloading from iTunes so went to Amazon instead and discovered I had 98p balance left from a gift card I redeemed earlier in the year so it only cost me 1p :lol: Glad that he has made a quick social media push for it.
