Well I suspect Truss and Sunak will be in the final two and the worst two candidates in my view given they were both part of the incompetent Johnson administration. However, hopefully this will mean electoral disaster at the next GE for the Tories.

I don't know much about Liz Truss but would I be right in saying that she's quite dopey?

I'm not 100% that Truss will win with the Tory members especially if she starts polling diabolically against Sunak in public surveys (the few that have been done on her are overwhelmingly negative and Sunak was extremely popular once). They "might" go for the option that wiill keep their wealth rather than Labour getting in, because let's face it that's what it comes down to.

I hadn’t realised that a regular I talk to at my gym was even a Tory but today I discovered he’s actually a member of the party. He’s refusing to vote as he thinks both candidates are crap.

 

Unfortunately, we have to have one of them.

Truss is a complete charisma vacuum with a shoddy record thus far and who wouldn't be the overall preferred choice of her party, I can't see her commanding anything like as much of a majority as Johnson did (nor getting as many member votes as he did) or turning public opinion towards them around. The interim will be awful, but better two years of that than eight years of Sunak.
