August 30, 20223 yr Two new debuts in the top 10 is good to see even if i'm not sold on the hype behind either of them. The climbs for Ferrari and Big City Life are also good news, hope the latter can hold on to top 10 this week. BOTA not showing at #1 is disappointing though. Afraid To Feel is still one of my favourite tracks of the summer but the tedium of it staying at #1 to the detriment of anything else has definitely set in now. Gotta love the streaming era charts. :nocheer:
August 30, 20223 yr I wonder how far ahead Muse are, presumably they'll be more than comfortably number one.
August 30, 20223 yr Soooo happy to see 'Mary On A Cross' registering in the top 40 singles updates now  The Kendrick album boost is due to the vinyl release btw - mine has now arrived!
August 30, 20223 yr Be interesting to see the gap between ATF and BOTA. Also if there is missing Spotify data (which there seems to always be in updates) will definitely close the gap in BOTA's favour
August 30, 20223 yr Top 3 debut for sir Elton and Britney would be extremely satisfying...seriously who thought this can happen in 2022 :excited: Even Top 5 debut is better than what I imagined!!!
August 30, 20223 yr Not super crazy on either Britney or David and Bebe but I'm here for fresh debuts in the top 10 and I especially am cheering in Brit anyway regardless of song quality. It's cute but that's it for me. Pleased to see Ghost top 40, some good old rock to spruce things up! Edited August 30, 20223 yr by Roba!
August 30, 20223 yr ^Yes, surprised LF are still #1 when BOTA is miles ahead on Spotify from the OCC page: As it currently stands, just 1,200 chart units separate Afraid To Feel (1), B.O.T.A (2) and Hold Me Closer (3) - it’s all to play for in the second half of the week as Elton & Britney storm ahead as the highest new entry and the UK’s most downloaded track of the week so far, while LF System’s reigning Number 1 is the one to beat on streams.
August 30, 20223 yr I wonder how far ahead Muse are, presumably they'll be more than comfortably number one. Muse are outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined, so a very comfortable lead
August 30, 20223 yr Will be interested to see the sales difference between #1 & #2 - if it's less than 600 and there's an extra day of Spotify data missing, I could see BOTA overturning it, but if it's nearer to 1k, I'd expect ATF to hold on.
August 30, 20223 yr I’m very surprised new Guetta is doing THAT well. I find Bebe’s vocals off-putting in it, and the sample use doesn’t attract me either: the original is too distinguishable for me for the remake to do well. Also feels like ‘Hold Me Closer’ may do a ‘Boyz’ by Jesy Nelson with a very high debut and falling off straight to low top-20 afterwards. But only time will tell.
August 30, 20223 yr I'm really surprised Madonna hasn't. It's all just depending upon which lens you choose to look at it from - in this format both Britney and Kylie started their careers at the end of a decade which meant that they had 2 decades done within a couple of years. Kylie spans 15 years Britney spans 14 years Madonna spans 23 years Not intending this to discredit Britney either, it would be an achievement to get another #1 23 years into her career regardless but terming it as 'four decades' makes it sound like it's almost 40 years when the reality is much smaller.
August 30, 20223 yr Just listened to the 2 big incoming new entries for the first time. The Elton and Britney track is OK: about what I expected from the reviews. However I do hope that Eiffel 65 thing grows on me as it seemed absolutely atrocious on first listen. :(
