I don't mind charity songs if they have some musical merit but perhaps You'll Never Walk Alone would have worked better as Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, with proceeds going to Captain Tom's fundraising initiative? And A Bridge Over You is a good example of two songs that don't fit together at all. I just don't find the Proclaimers song funny at all and Wishing On A Star was utterly pointless and soulless. I love Loca People, like Crazy Stupid Love, don't mind The Time through to One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks), the rest are all varying shades of average to annoying to awful though.

I did not think I'd be ranking Chris Brown that low down. I have a slight soft spot for the last four though.

September 28, 20222 yr I've just realised that Alexandra Burke's absolute mauling of Hallelujah isn't in this list. Howwwwww?!?! It would have been my +25 by a country mile. Literally the only good thing to come from it was the belated charting of Jeff Buckley's brilliant version at #2 in protest.
September 28, 20222 yr That was originally going to be on here but enough people wanted to swap it to 'Start Without You'. I really hate both of them for different reasons (and her other #1 is not that much better either, she had some decent songs but her #1s are not among them) but I agree 'Hallelujah' is the worse of the two x
