I'm sure Ed will have something up his sleeve for Christmas - that would give him the rare feat of having both the first and last number one of the same calendar year!

That would depend on whether or not you use the week ending date, since that chart was announced in 2021! Could imagine Lewis Capaldi might put another single out before the end of the year though?

Possibly, but since his album isn't out until May I'd say it's more likely he'll wait until after Christmas, that way he can tie it in with a Brits performance, and then release the third single just before the album.

I'd agree it's likely to hold.

The only possibility I can see is if Adele does drop a deluxe version of 30 (although i'm not sure whether a new track from that would even do enough to make #1 tbh) considering Easy On Me had a week at #1 this year on the post-Christmas rebound. I suppose another Lewis Capaldi single and #1 couldn't be ruled out either.

Have none of you heard about the upcoming Christmas single by Kate Bush feat. Dave, GAYLE, Rihanna, Will Ferrell, Ed Sheeran and Elton John?

THat would also depend on whether you count the real no.1 or the official no.1 since Shivers was the first real no.1 of the year (though of course officially it was Easy on Me)

I'll believe that when I see it lol

EDIT: Just caught up with the other thread - it's a soundtrack single which does actually sound believable, I'm just not convinced we'll ever get a new album.

It’s meant to be appearing in the new Black Panther film

Tbf the fact she's doing a soundtrack single, performing at the Superbowl next year and the heavy rumours of her doing a stadium tour next year seems to suggest a new album is coming as well.

Kylie remains at 5 in the UK with 6209 sales, A-Ha at 6 with 4808, Dry Cleaning with 4032, 1975 with 4019, Ed Sheeran at 9 with 3832 and Harry Styles has popped back into the Ten as he always does with 3555. Carly Rae has departed the Top Ten.

Shame about Carly but it was to be expected I guess. Great for Kylie to still be top 5, would be amazing if she can hold on!

I can't see anyone catching Impossible Princess now for the top 5, such an unexpectedly great result
Incredible for Kylie - a 25 year old underperforming album, selling on vinyl for £25+ and heading for the Top 5 (hopefully!).
No update on the album chart since Monday?
