November 3, 20222 yr I could swear there was a previous version of this list where the most streamed song from 2011 was somehow 'What You Know' by Two Door Cinema Club. Unless that was a slightly different list I'm thinking of (I'm not sure how to go about finding it on here). edit: actually I found it quicker than I thought, it was this list which counted only streams in 2017. (and counted 'What You Know' as a 2010 song which I guess it is)
November 3, 20222 yr So Dancing In The Moonlight has gone from being the 10th most streamed song from the 70s, 80s and 90s to bring the most streamed song from 2000. :???: Blinding Lights has “outsold” Dance Monkey, so I’d have expected that to be the biggest from 2019, but maybe DM’s extra video streams swing it as they won’t be down-weighted for this count like they are for the chart sales.
November 3, 20222 yr very interesting list , i guess songs released earlier in the year had more chance of making the list! will make a playlist at some point !! some massive surprises
November 3, 20222 yr I’m shocked at Party in the USA being the most streamed from 2009. Then again I hadn’t realised that it went 2xPlatinum last year. It wasn’t exactly a massive smash here in 2009. 154th best seller of the year with 115,890 sales. Silver - 22.07.2013 (though it would have exceeded 200k earlier than this. That was the date when certifications became automatic) Gold - 19.08.2016 Platinum - 20.04.2018 2xPlatinum - 14.05.2021 I guess it could be approaching 1.5m now?!
November 3, 20222 yr I'm guessing it's the most streamed song in 2022 released in each of the 70 years, Seems poorly worded
November 3, 20222 yr So Dancing In The Moonlight has gone from being the 10th most streamed song from the 70s, 80s and 90s to bring the most streamed song from 2000. :???:Justice for The Chain being denied its rightful place at 10th in that list! Either that or DITM should replace No Scrubs for 1999, with something else (Yellow?) representing 2000.
November 3, 20222 yr Interesting idea for a list, and good to see my favourite song of all time appear (that would be 'Creep').
November 3, 20222 yr Happy to see 'Be My Baby' up there as an enduring classic for the streaming era  I remember reading that there was going to be a Ronnie Spector biopic with Zendaya playing her, which could help it even more, although news seems to have gone quiet
November 3, 20222 yr I'm guessing it's the most streamed song in 2022 released in each of the 70 years, Seems poorly worded It's definitely not cos otherwise Running Up That Hill would be on the list. Is definitely all time streams.
November 3, 20222 yr I was quite interested to see the 50s ones as they are quite old but I guess modern ads etc help. Surprised ‘Rock Around the Clock’ still was t the biggest from 1955. Also max that Bryan Adams takes 1985 with a non top 40 hit!
November 3, 20222 yr Shocked Sia’s Cheap Thrills is #1 for 2015 It may partially be because it was a hit in 2016 where streaming was a LOT higher than 2015, so it has an advantage over all the 2015 songs which were actually hits in 2015 and had died down by the time streaming figures got even larger. November 3, 20222 yr It's definitely not cos otherwise Running Up That Hill would be on the list. Is definitely all time streams. OK snippy was just guessing as its poorly worded  and I'm fairly certain streaming didn't exist in the 1950s
November 3, 20222 yr OK snippy was just guessing as its poorly worded  and I'm fairly certain streaming didn't exist in the 1950s The data: UK streams from 2014 to now (2014 is when OCC first started to collect the data) The concept: The most streamed song from each year that the chart has existed
