November 9, 20223 yr The Music Week report states that Tuesday's streaming figures have not yet been included so Taylor could be closer to Drake. Drake is still probably beating her on daily streams (the gap in streaming has grown from 6.3k on Monday to 7.9k today) so more likely the opposite. She's closed the gap slightly because her pure sales are still really strong for a third week whereas Drake's are essentially nonexistent. (Most Tuesday streaming figures are always missing from the Wednesday update btw) In any case, unless Taylor gets a serious surge from somewhere (more likely in pure sales as it's probably too late in the week for streaming to save her) I think Drake & 21 are pretty safe to hang on at #1 now.

The sales will be from downloads which is pretty much a dead market since streaming was introduced.

So pleased she is getting a hit but I think it will be a one off - TikTok trends never seem to overspill into sales elsewhere hence the album doing hardly anything, still good to see her back in the charts though.

Even in the early 2010's there were a few studies done on illegal downloads and Drake was always the most illegally downloaded artist in them.

Taylor still sells thousands of albums on downloads though, and tens of thousands of them have bought physical copies this week. Prob an unfair comparison as she's pop, but then again they've both been around for 14 years or so fans must be of a similar age range :o
