Gabrielle - Give Me A Little More Time

Hot Butter - Popcorn

Wiz Khalifa - Black And Yellow

Using the Moog synthesiser, this 1972 single by the American group was one of the earliest synth pop hits. The original version by the Moog pioneer, Gershon Kingsley, goes even further back, to 1969. Another version by Crazy Frog was a top 20 hit in 2005.

^ and of course there is '2 Die 4' by Tove Lo also sampling Popcorn, which has charted in our hearts. :D :D

By the way King Rollo, do you by any chance have the stats how many people voted for each song? Would be very interesting. Thank you!

Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX - Fancy (4)

Bananarama - I Want You Back (2)

Florence and the Machine – You've Got the Love (3)

Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind (3)

Elton John - Crocodile Rock (3)

Peggy Lee - Fever (4)

Redlight - Lost In Your Love (3)

Diana Ross - My Old Piano (3)

From the same year as Popcorn, this was Elton John's first US number 1 single. Including the Supremes, Diana Ross had four songs and they've all gone out now. Bananarama also make their exit with the last of their three singles.

For the songs on 51 points, I've put the number of voters in brackets, I'll do that from now on.

The Bee Gees - You Should Be Dancing (3)

Oliver Heldens featuring KStewart - Last All Night (Koala) (2)

The Bee Gees lose the last of their four songs to receive votes. You Should Be Dancing was from their album 'Children Of The World' and was used again on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.

Interesting that there's been at least one song on each points total so far. I haven't lost anything out of my votes since 40, although Crocodile Rock wasn't far from them.
'Black And Yellow' is my fave of today's batch but still probably wouldn't have made my votes. Also like 'You Should Be Dancing', 'You've Got The Love' (although there are several other versions of that song I like more) and 'Lost In Your Love'.
Lost In Your Love and Last All Night (Koala) dropped out from my votes today, Black And Yellow was close to making it in mine too but glad it also managed to hit the 50 point mark!
Popcorn is fun, have never listened to it in full. Pleased that Blur have done well in this rate, Out Of Time is good but would have said either it or Charmless Man should be the first of theirs to fall.

Well, that serves me right for not looking at the 70s list properly.

I missed one of my favourite songs of all time - Carpenters Top of the World.

Argh! :nocheer:

I lost that, Gabrielle and Hot Butter, all high scores. Pretty standard day for me then in this.

Blur's 'Out Of Time' is incredible and Gabrielle's 'Give Me A Little More Time' is also a classic. But for me it's all about Bananarama today (my 29 pointer), when I first started getting into music I used to be completely obsessed with 'I Want You Back' and whenever I hear it now it takes me right back to my teenage years. Its parent album 'Wow' is an absolutely solid pop album too. If you love pure 80s pop and you haven't heard that album I suggest you check it out!
Im still surprised Fancy doesn't have more fans on here, it's so iconic
Give Me A Little More Time had quite the Chart Run 😍

Chic - Good Times (5)

Catatonia - Road Rage (4)

Olly Murs - Dear Darlin' (3)

N.E.R.D - She Wants To Move (3)

Frank Sinatra - My Way (6)

This American number 1 was one of five UK top ten singles for Chic from 1977 to 1979. My Way by Frank Sinatra has spent 75 weeks in the top 40 which is more than any other non Christmas song. Road Rage was the second of three top 10 hits for Catatonia.

Pet Shop Boys - It's Alright (3)

Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me (3)

This cover of a 1987 song by Sterling Void and Paris Brightledge is the only Pet Shop Boys single to peak at number 5. Cooler Than Me was Mike Posner's debut single and preceded his number 1 by five years.

Bread - Make It With You (3)

From 1970, this was the only top 10 hit for the American group. It reached number 1 in their own country.

The full house of points totals continues. Shame to see Good Times out, especially considering how influential that bassline was. Mike Posner with the pop song people (except 3 voters) forgot.
